Here comes the review of reality shows.I am writing this review out of disappointment by a recently held reality show.Initially the show was discharging his duties as a talent hunt show but later on its path changed and focused more on glamour and money than talent.They were keep on extending the episodes to the maximum extent and fooling the audience.Not only this show but also other reality shows were standing in the same shoes.So this would be a general review of reality shows.
Temporary celebrities:
Each and every alternate day a reality show is launched.Of course they provide platform for budding talents.The concept seems to be honourable.They have the potential to turn its participants into rock star celebrities but for a short period.Many have became heroes overnight.But are they ready to manage quick fame and glory they earned through their shows?
Eliminations:
Elimination is a buzz word in these shows. Without eliminations winners cannot be found out.I am not telling no need of eliminations but the question being raised after elimination."how do u feel now"?Will the eliminated contestants feel like king or queen of the world.? Its like "ADDING FUEL TO THE FIRE".
Wild card round:
Only very few wild card round winners are title winners.
For others wild card round is like "ONE MORE GATEWAY FOR ELIMINATION".
Voting system:
Not to forget the "vote for me" voices from contestants.Voting system should be appreciable bcoz of its concept of making audience to be judges.But the question is "Do the viewers give preference to technicalities or favourism"?
Esteemed Judges:
No doubt the panel of judges are going to be the backbone of the show as they play an important role in nurturing talents of contestants.But sometimes harsh comments thrown at contestants by the judges is tough to digest.Publicly such comments can be avoided thinking that contestants are also human beings.
Emotional quotient:
Emotional quotient gained out of these shows exceeds more and more "no limit".
The celebrations, tears, laughs, smiles, fears, ego, pressure, make overs.emotionally blackmailing the audience.Now we can understand why these shows are dominating?
TEMPTING FACTORS:
fame
glory
huge prizes
money
popularity
celebrities
COMMENDABLE FACTORS:
refreshing change from serials
instant recognition
improves self confidence
ray of hope for ordinary people
turns dreamsinto realities
REAL FACTORS:
fooling the viewers
conquered prime television slot
emotional blackmail
generating frightening situation both for participants as well as viewers
no way to guarantee success
win win situation for contestants, channels and viewers.
Finally "Do these shows deserve to be applauded"?
The answer is yes if they do not overdose.
