Well, i'm not trying to lecture anyone or trying to get anyone to change through this review. These are just my general thoughts about Mouthshut. At first, I was going to wait till my 100th review to write this topic. However, I can't wait much longer.
MS is a brilliant site. Over the 2 years i've been here, i've made loadsa friends, interacted with a lot of interesting people and gained advice on many different aspects of life. There are some great members on MS, who are people with hearts of gold who will lend an ear in times when no-one will listen.
It is a place I go to when I need advice on something. Normally, before I go and check out a film, I check on MS to see what people have thought. That was the great thing about MS. It stuck to the point being based around reviews. There were some humorous ones, some heartbreaking ones, some great ones, and now, some reviews that are just written for attention.
Dunno if its just me, but it seems recently that there are people are trying to start riots on MS. For them, its not a review site, its a site where they can spark controversies. There have been reviews recently, totally defaming MS members, or whinging about one thing or the other. Even worse, the comments boxes of these make me feel sick at times.
Its members on members, being openly rude to each other. They say what they want, they dont care. If I feel a review is not worthy, then i'll give it a NU, leave a comment why and leave it at that. Whats the point of starting a violent tennis match between the reviewer and the reader? If I feel someone's way bang out of order, i'll tell them and leave it like that. I'll then leave it up to the reviewer to acnowledge my opinion and respect it.
You can just imagine, somebody wanting to sign on for an account on MS, reads the comments box on one of these so called reviews, and thinks, what the hells happenin here? and leaves.
If a member stands up against or for something, then I respect them. If somebody doesn't agree, I respect them as well. However, shouldn't it just be left at that? People have opinions, people have views. There's no need to be so openly rude to people.
Another thing i've noticed on MS is people are writing reviews just for the hell of it. These reviews haven't been thought of, they are just 800 words about something completely insignificant to the topic, or totally defaming people etc. For gods sake people, this is a review site. What we write on this site is not for ourselves, its for others. So please, just put a little thought into what you write.
Those were just a few points I wanted to raise. Please acnowledge them as my opinion and leave your comment as to what you think of them.
Now, onto the good side. MS is a site where people can show their talents at writing. Its a great site with mostly great people, and really helpful reviews! The best part it, there are some magnificent people out there with hearts made of pure gold, who write great reviews. Just mentioning a few names, if you're new, I definitely recommed you check them out -

I haven't mentioned the people above because they keep with all of them 'rules' I have mentioned. I have read their reviews, interacted personally with some of them over M2M and MSN, read their comments, ratings and profiles. Some are gems of MS, some are still to become gems with a little hard work.
So, current MS is not all bad. Its just recently i've read quite a lot of reviews which annoyed me. So I decided to pen in my views.
