Mouthshut says that it is a product review community. But over the last year or two I have observed that a plethora of topics have been added that cannot be classified as anywhere related to a product or service. This topic is one of them. So guys(and gals) please tell me, how or using what product or service can you ‘impress a woman’? You may say that you need to buy a gift for her. Then the question will arise what gift can you buy? A perfume? Which perfume? What brand? You may say that you can compliment your lady love. Is a compliment a product or service? If yes, then there should be a category for ‘general advice on giving compliments to ladies’. Somebody should suggest it through mouthpad.
Sometime in mid-2005 I thought of a topic ‘left handers vs. right handers’ and thought of suggesting it thru mouthpad. For a few weeks I dithered, thinking that it cannot fit into the concept of Mouthshut.(I still believe so). But one fine day I posted this request through mouthpad, hoping that it would be rejected. To my surprise it was accepted. I wrote a review, it generated quite a debate, it was a hit, a superhit I should say and then I was happy. But at the same time I got convinced that I can add virtually any category to Mouthshut without worrying about it being rejected. Though I haven’t done that since then, I am now tempted to request a few absurd categories to Mouthshut. So now let’s suggest a few new categories and ask people to write ‘reviews’ on them. Here go some of them –
General advice on Romanian car market
If you can have an advice topic on Indian car market, so can you have a topic on American, Romanian, Russian and perhaps 200 more country’s car markets?
General advice on how to make coffee from a coffee machine
The western world is full of coffee machines. NRIs will love this topic!
General advice on alarm clocks
I just realized that there is no category for alarm clocks on Mouthshut. And Mouthshut has listings for 89000 products and services. Wow!
General advice on cheating in an examination
A bit cheeky I know but admit it guys, everyone of us has cheated in our exams at least once in our lifetime

Since Mouthshut has dedicated entire categories on tips for making food and exchanging recipes of some exotic dishes, I bet this topic is apt to be added among them.

Arunachal Pradesh is just an example. You can travel to any remote corner of the world like the Amazon rain forest, ask Mouthshut to add a category for it and then you can ‘review’ it. It is as simple as that!

This will surely generate a lot of reviews because there are plenty of ways and opinions about how to reply to personal mails.

My idea behind writing this review is that I want to know your opinion about the addition of such absurd topics to this community. How or in what way are we discussing products and services under this topic? Tell me honestly; isn’t this topic better suited for a blog? And mind you, you don’t have to be super creative to write a blog. Go write your heart out, a blog will give you better flexibility to write than here because a lot of things are censored here.
And since this is an absurd topic I have yet another topic in mind that I think is worth adding to the category listing – ‘Tips on congratulating Anil Kumble for his 600th test wicket’.
