Ganapathyram theatre is located in Adyar, Chennai. It is a single screen theatre that screen 4 shows in a day-Morning, matinee, evening and night. Mostly tamil films are screened here.
The problem is the theatre, has not been developed at all. It is still as it was about 7-8 years ago. The seats are too small and uncomfortable to sit in. There is no proper legroom and we feel very cramped. Also the screen is too small. So, we do not get the satisfaction of seeing the film. The screen in not of HD or 4K quality, rather the kind of projection we see in small theatres(i.e) poor quality and with grains in the screen. The sound quality is also too poor, and we cant hear anything if there is a scene where the actors whisper/ speak in a low voice.
Also the A/C does not function properly. The snacks sold here are of very poor quality. If you ever visit this theatre(must be avoided at all costs), buy some branded snacks/soft drinks and not the ones they sell.
There is no adequate car parking. You can only park in the open space outside the screen(inside theatre premises). And there is no security/caretaker for vehicles.
Tickets are priced at 80/- for balcony, 60/- for first class. Though you may say the cost is low, I felt I did not get the experience worth this money.
Overall, I did not get even one positive thing about this theatre. Hope they develop the theatre soon. As of now, do not recommend this theatre to anyone, especially family audience.
