Psst - This section will contain some inside trivia about the film.

Quotes - Good one liners from the movie.

Oops - Goofs from the movie.

Gadar - Ek Prem Katha

Director - Anil Sharma

Screenplay - Shaktiman

Picture this. Gadar has a good starcast, Sunny deol, Amisha Patel & Amrish Puri nicely supported by Vivek Shauq and a cameo by seema biswas. It has a decent, intense subject - The 1947 India-Pakistan Partition. The first half is hard hitting and touching. The Soundtrack is above-average. Some of the dialogues are outstanding. All of the starcast have given a brilliant performance. So what went wrong? What will happen when you are just a few meters short of climbing the world's highest mountain and someone kicks you so hard that you fall to the base? This is exactly what happened in the end scene. I just had 3 words to say when I cam out of the cinema hall. ''I am Shocked''.

Psst -

1) Reportedly this is the first hindi movie in which all the people involved with making of this movie were fully paid in cheques.

Quotes

1) ''Hindustan Zindabad.''

2) ''Baap, Baap hota hai. Aur beta, beta hota hai. Beta, Baap main se aata hai. Pakistan. Hindustan main se aaya hai''

Oops

1) During one scene in the start we see Amisha Patel wearing High Heeled Shoes. High heeled shoes in 1947??

2) When Amisha Patel enters the Lost property cabin in the station she remembers her singing a song ''que sera sera''. The song was from the alfred hitchcock movie 'The Man Who Knew Too much'. Alfred hitchcok had made this movie twice. Once in 1936 and once in 1953.Apparently The song first came in the 'The man who knew too much' which was released in 1953. Much after the independence.

3) If Sunny deol is shown to be a sikh, How come he has beard in one scene and is clean shaven the next?

4) In the ending, we have a doctor right in the middle of a desert along with a mobile hospital.

5) In some scenes you can see Amisha Patel wearing Contact lenses. Contact lenses in 1947?? really!!!
