I did not want to see this movie after seeing the unimpressive trailors but after the opening it had I wanted to see this movie.what was so special about the movie?? .after seeing the movie I realised that this movie is really special..really really special..
this is a love saga set in the times of partition.this is a moving depiction of torment and the innocent suffering during the partition of 1947.
set in the time of partition this is a love saga between sunny deol(truckdriver) and amisha patel.amisha stays in a girls hostel where sunny delivers food stuff.in no time both develop a silent bond that develops into a mutual liking.before their relationship can take any serious turn their the country is torn apart.
amisha hails from a wealthy muslim family and sunny is a sikh.riots leave everyone distressed and amisha's family decide to shift to pakistan.her whole family is destroyed in an attack by mobsters after they discover that she is muslim.but sunny saves her from the clutches of the furious crowd.
sunny and amisha get married despite family opposition.everything goes fine until they discover that her family is alive and her father wants her back.he plots a scheme and gets her back to pakistan.and the rest of story is how sunny rescues amisha from her parent's palatial prison.
the film is well made and looks authentic.it is an honest effort at making a different film.
the movie takes u back to 1947 when the nation was being broken into two.this is sunny's best performance till date.he is just stunning. this movie no wonder generated some controversy coz sunny delivers some really stinging dialogues inthis movie..amisha looks good but has to improve her acting and has to make her acting look more natural..definitely this is one of the best movies I have seen.
