Abbott is most unreliable medical company I have ever seen.
As my father ( who is a senior citizen -71 years retired government officer ) is hospitalized for some issue. Doctor asked to monitor sugar level every hour. Hospital has suggest some Abbott freestyle liber reader and sensor ( sugar level check ) device to me. When it was supposed to be installed it was told this will help not to prick finger now every time. Irony is that the device installed and provided is of no use and from day 1 the reading has a difference from manual glucometer.
A) The variation in freestyle to normal glucometer is in range from 55 units to 110 units.
B) If we follow the freestyle device sugar level the medications will be all wrong, due to which if something happens to my father who will be responsible?
C) The sensor tag worth 5249 is valid only for 14 days, out of which hospital staff is telling it will give vague readings for the first 2 days. So ideally it will work for only 12 days, why no research or testing has been done before selling this kind of product? It is just to loot money from the people who are already mentally stressed.
D) The hospital staff has not used the machine at all and is only checking this to make fun of its working. The sole purpose of buying this was to reduce pricking but the hospital staff is still checking sugar levels through pricking, so what’s the purpose of buying this defective machine which didn’t work when it was supposed to?
E) it’s been 5 days and the machine is still giving the wrong readings.
This has been clear to medical staff at the hospital also not to follow any reading of this device. This has costed me not small amount it has costed me 5499 for the machine and 5249 for the sensor.
Below mentioned is the communication and poor/ rude response from your staff and customer care even after cheating the customer with the defective product.
Marketing person ( Mr Rajesh ) from company visited me in hospital and verified medical data maintained by hospital and machine data, found the claims made by me are correct. Still asked to use for another day and advise if the readings are not correct we will inform head office for action.
Next day customer care support took all the details again over phone. Again 3rd day I have given details to customer care supervisor ( Miss Nirmala ), mam is trying to sell the product again to me, height is she understands all the issues and again starts from scratch of telling general information. To which, I am saying simply reply specifically to issue which she understood after almost 20min of conversation. Now she understood and said we can not take back the machine and we can only replace it. Why so when they have not been correct on there promises why should I take it? When this was most required the device was of no use, now why should I take it?
This company is cheating the patients in hospital, the Government of India should take a strict action against them and also give notice to companies giving these kinds of false promises. Also should give strict instructions to companies if the devices supplied by companies are faulty then strict action will be taken against them as they have no rights to play with anyone's life like this.
Now if there is any ethics in this company first they should send an apology to me and my father, secondly they should refund my amount and take back this faulty machine.
