Freaky chakra
a rectangular love story!!!!
There couldn’t have been a more apt name for this weird movie. In keeping with trend of young guys falling in love with older women after ‘ek choti si love story (!)’ and ‘leela’ this movie too followed suit and failed to appeal the masses.
This is another offbeat, parallel line cinema that stars Deepti naval and Sachin Khedekar
The plot:
The movie begins on a very boring drab note, with Mrs. Thomas fending for herself in an opulent immaculate flat on Ashoka Road in Banagalore city. She lives her life in an eternally pugnacious way, desperately trying to put two things of her past behind her- her late husband and her medical profession. She is not scruffy but is very confrontational. She gets into an argument with just about anyone from an auto driver to the vegetable vendor. She yells at the watchman and neighbour’s naughty kids as a ritual.
So basically, she’s someone who totally enervates you.
Well, there’s always hope that the movie might get better and so I kept watching
All of a sudden, an audacious guy just walks in her door ( as a PG)and straight into her life(not to forget, her heart). Quite expectedly, there is a foray of fun and an entire turn of events.(BTW he doesn’t have a name)
Well, the guy commends her hair and the next thing you know she is in the beauty parlour getting a manicure. The two of them go around, eat together, play chess, watch movies, fight for the remote, drink coffee, basically spend time together and supposedly fall in love.
Performances
Sachin does a considerably good job as a horny nosy pathetic neighbour to Mrs. Thomas who is in love with her.deepti naval was at her best and it seemed like she totally enjoyed doing the role.
newboy sunil Roah leaves us unperturbed.he isjust another kid in the block failing to do to anything but be cute to look at.ranvir's narration was absurd and unrealistic. sunaina lal's role was inwanted and unnecessary.
My imbroglio
my prima fascia of the movie
The movie purported a widow moving from sullen and somber to sparkling and bubbly, which is actually very acceptable. But, I fail to understand if the cause for that is a man? Is that what it takes to make a person affable and cheerful? Well, it is according to the movie at least. So, in case you find someone who is a hard nut to crack you might attempt putting him or her in a relationship.
But, giving it a more serious thought
I feel we all have a better foothold of ourselves when we have emotional support. It is not plausible for me, an 18 yr old to conceive how it was for Mrs. Thomas to live by herself.
It is true anyone would saunter towards insanity if they lost their loved ones and had no friendly human contact. My point is that the picturisation of this idea of a hopeless life without love and a jubilant life with love, using a widow and the entire portrayal was repulsive.
i thereby request you to kindly enlighten me on any other interpretation of this movie. it would be great to hear another school of thought..........
