My brother (Shubham Saran), aged 18, had a congenital disorder and was operated and had a shunt fitted inside his brain since birth.
Since past few days, he was having a mild headache and the situation deteriorated on the night of 28th-29th September, that's when we admitted him to FORTIS Gurgaon. This is because Dr. Rana Patir was the one who had done his last surgery and inserted a shunt.
From this day, the trauma started for us.
He was a neuro patient and his treatment at FORTIS was being supervised by Dr. Rana Patir(India’s topmost neurologist).
The nurses and other attendants were extremely careless, irresponsible and had a very casual approach towards the patient.
Even after using emergency services, they respond to us after 20 to 30 minutes. In the night where the drip has to be monitored by them, we have to call them to replace it. Even then, they take their own sweet time to attend my brother.
He was there for almost 10 days and the doctors could not even diagnose the cause of his severe headache and seizures. Every now and then they were doing MRI and CT scan but nobody was able to diagnose the root cause of the pain.
As my brother suffered multiple seizures each day, the doctors refused to accept the occurrence of any seizures. We even tried to show them the video proof from EEG, but they refused to accept. They themselves have checked the EEG, but not able to interpret if it is caused by epilepsy or by some other issue.
During this time span, the doctors were doing trial and error to diagnose the cause by changing medicines every two days. They even have reduced the shunt pressure one time from 100 to 80 and asked us to wait for 48 hours. Even then the pain was not reduced. Then, they have increased the pressure from 100 to 120. It was all in vain.
ALSO, DURING THIS 10 DAYS TIME, Dr. Rana Patir ONLY VISITED HIM 4 TIMES.
The Doctor and his team were celebrating Gandhi Jayanti, Weekends and Dussehra while my brother was suffering from unbearable pain and trauma.
Finally, my brother had a massive seizure on 8th October and he became unconscious. Even then the doctor and his staff took more than 20 minutes to shift him to ICU. Due to this massive seizure, he had a severe Cardiac Arrest and he breathed his last on 8th October 7:23 pm. At that time also Dr. Rana Patir and his team were enjoying and celebrating Dusshera.
These hospital staff and doctors have taken our most precious brother from us and left a void in our family which can never be filled.
World's most pathetic and greedy hospital with careless and most irresponsible doctors and staff.
This post is just a caution for those who are thinking of taking medical attention from Dr. Rana Patir and his team. Also please be aware that the support staff is pathetic and avoid visiting such a facility.
Their medical license should be canceled so that they cannot cause any such damage to any other family in the future.
