I own a Ford Ikon ZXi. The ZXi has a 1600cc engine, with all the frills included.
What's good:
This car is great to drive - smooth & comfortable.
The accelaration is amazing, you can outgun most cars on the road.
The car hits high speeds without a problem. I hit 140 kmph many times without realizing it sometimes!
Very comfortable seating, more than enough leg space.
The boot is very spacious
I like the lighting on the dashboard, it has a green lit background which is funky, and has since been copied by many high end cars.
The AC and Power steering are smooth and effective.
The car is sturdy and good to drive on highways for long distances
It's not that huge so parking in the city is not that tough.
Also, it has that certain X factor which really makes driving it a pleasure
What's not good:
The mileage is pretty bad, especially for the 1600cc version. I get just below 9 kmpl with ac but with the premium petrol
After about 2 years the car becomes extremely high maintenance. Spare parts and servicing costs are high, so you need to pay a price to enjoy the car!
The Ford Ikon depreciates very fast, so you won't get a good price when you want to sell it.
Harpreet Ford, the main Ford dealer is not very good and charges a lot of money for servicing and spare parts, so you have to go to other mechanics to get your car fixed.
So overall, I would not recommend buying this car. But for those die hard car freaks who buy cars for the pleasure of driving and don't care about maintenance costs, then this is the perfect car for you.
