Last week my brother came for some official work to pune. Me & my bro decided to have a guys party with all my cousins at The Food Link Court on the rooftop of International Convention Centre (ICC) on S. B. Road, Pune on Saturday. Meeting with brothers over a couple of drinks and food is always exciting. It was 8:30 pm when all of us gathered and took the elevator to the top.
We sat on a place from where we could see the city view as well as entire restaurant.
We ordered our drinks, starters and started chatting and cracking jokes. You will not get bored even if you go alone.
They offer Weekday Buffet Lunch at Rs.349+Taxes but we ordered different snacks and food both veg & non veg.
Ambiance:
Once we reached we checked out for the ideal place as there were 3 options. One was open sky deck with acrylic sheets to allow full view of the night cityscape. Other was a covered buffet area opening to the same city view and third one- a lounge with nice and simple decor. The place was nice, lively & tastefully done. Comfortable seating, spacious table arrangement and well designed bar counters. the lamps, wooden deck, small waterbodies and ambient lighting make the entire place come alive. This being the tallest building on the road, offers a wonderful city view with hills, greenery and city lights.
The food & beverages: They have a wide choice of food & beverages. A fosters / kingfisher will taste the way it always tastes but the real skill is when you have to make cocktails. We ordered some cocktails and the taste, proportions, quantity & aroma was just right. Excellent stuff. You can try cocktails & mocktails with your eves closed. Blue berry mocktail was exceptionally good.
Food too was amazing. In fact everything we ordered was excellent.
Dishes tried:
We ordered Mutten Seekh Kebabs, Rawalpindi Paneer Tikka, Tandoori chicken & Veg crispy in starters. The right proportions of spices, aroma and taste.
In dinner we ordered Palak Lasoon, Dal Tadka, Butter Chicken and veg hyderabadi. The gravy and chicken were lip smacking. In indian breads, we ordered Butter garlic naan, Tandoori Wheat butter roti and steamed rice. We all were very happy with the quality of food. Butter garlic naan was simply awesome.
The quantity too was good. We din’t feel cheated as many premium places serve very small portions and and you have to order one more dish to have “ Pet bhar ke dinner”
No scope for complaints.
Service time:
Not a single dish took too long to be serves and when we realised that we may have to order one more Dal Tadka, it was served in less than 7 mins.
Staff:
The only negative point here is not the service but the delight on the faces of serving staff. In hospitality industry, its essential to maintain a pleasant smile on your face, I courteous attitude and good body Language. All this was missing.
Pricing:
In spite of so many positive points, we all felt it was over priced. You can visit this place more often if your budget allows. In general always check the bill thoroughly as many times you will be surprised to see items you never ordered or the number of naans you ordered.
So when you have a good budget, and you decide to go to a place which relaxes you in true senses, go to foodlink court.
