My Tips!

Eating out at a restaurant is something that has only caught up with the Indians in the recent past. With a number of eat-outs all across the country now vying for customers’ attention, we all have a lot of options as far as eating-out is concerned. However, there are certain rules and regulations which should be taken care of while you are at a restaurant. I would share few of my tips with you in this review.

  1. First of all, you need to remember that you are at a restaurant and not in your kitchen. It is better that you avoid shouting or talking loudly. A restaurant is a public place where you share your space with a number of people. It is advisable that you talk mildly even to a waiter.

  2. If there are not any seats available for you( owing to the restaurant being full), wait for your turn and do follow the queue. If someone else has been waiting for a seat before you, allow him/her to have the next empty seat.

  3. When dealing with a waiter, show politeness. The staff serving at a restaurant are not your servants. They are professionally trained and have the ability of handle your requests without you having to shout at them. In case, you receive a bad service, talk with the manager instead of shouting at the waiters and insulting them. They are also human beings.

  4. Do not try to unnecessarily talk with the people close to your table. In case, they initiate the conversation, then you can have a chat with them. Chatting while eating, especially in US is considered to be rude and a violation of one’s personal space.

  5. The bread plates should always be to your left and the wine glasses to your right. If you are using knife and fork for a particular dish, hold knife in the right hand and the fork in the left hand. In case you are a left-handed person, then you can switch the hands.

  6. You should avoid talking while eating. Not only does it look awkward, but it does not allow the food to be digested properly. If you still insist making a short-talk with your friends, make sure your mouth is not overstuffed with food. Additionally, speak in a low volume. You should not keep on shouting loud while eating out at a restaurant.

  7. If you receive a good service from the restaurant staff, do not forget to tip them. Doing so encourages the servers to serve you better in the future and you may even end up getting a free bowl of dessert!

These are some of the tips which I have shared with you in this review. Hope these tips help you in making your “eat-out” experience a memorable one.
