Please do not use Flipkarts' services.
The service is appalling and it's mildly amusing to see Flipkart listed as a competitor to major E-commerce sites when there is no competition: they belong in the list of other unethical websites that ought to be boycotted.
They don't have any integrity. Customer service executives offer false promises and then the issue is conveniently marked off as 'resolved' when it is not resolved.
There is no proper quality control department so if the average customer makes the grave mistake of ordering on this website, he/she may end up spending about 30 minutes speaking with customer care executives regarding the products they have received. The sellers do not care about Health and Safety standards either and it is very dangerous to order Edible items on this site.
A few examples:
The expiry date listed on the product description page would be a year from now but the product you receive expires in a few weeks. You end up having to explain the situation over the phone instead of simply cancelling because alas, the product is a non-returnable item and so there's no option to simply cancel. You must speak with the customer care executive and exchange sweet nothings for 30 minutes. You manage to get the item returned and get your money back but since you weren't even offered a genuine replacement, you have to search for the product again somewhere else.
Still, since you got your money back you decide to give Flipkart another chance against your better judgment...
Ordered wet food for a kitten (Pack of 96) and received one sachet that was completely puffed up, a.k.a, spoiled. With it, was a sachet of adult cat food that is of no use to a kitten and one that the kitten is allergic to even. There was no written note, no explanation, nothing. Can you imagine what might have happened if a consumer/young person didn't know the gravity of the situation and simply fed such a product to an animal or a child even? It is the duty of the seller to not ship toxic products just to fulfill the order of selling '96 sachets.' And then to throw in a sachet that is of no use to the consumer is an even bigger disgrace albeit a gesture. It is the duty of the quality control department to ensure such a product does not go out for shipping either.
I had to explain all this to the customer care executive as if I'm some kind of school teacher educating children in a classroom. I informed the executive(s) that the other sachets were okay and that I had used one to check the same and require a refund only on the damaged product which was assured to me.
The next morning, I had to have a petty argument with the delivery person as to why I wouldn't be returning the entire lot. He told me he wouldn't process the refund if I didn't hand over the product to him and the case was conveniently closed. I did these people a favour saving them time on logistics and other hassles related to returning an entire package for the sake of one defective product but this was the thanks I received. I wasn't even informed if the seller understood how serious his mistake was and nobody bothered to call and clarify the issue before marking it off as 'resolved.'
All this made me firm in my decision to never use this site again so I unchecked all permissions pertaining to newsletters/emails but continue to receive unsolicited emails to this day. Their complete disregard for their customer's preferences is quite obnoxious especially when the customer doesn't want to have anything to do with such a site and has clearly stated the same.
This site only gives you the option to deactivate your account but there's no option to permanently delete your account.
Buyer beware. Never purchase edible items on this site and due to the manner in which they conduct their business, I suggest boycotting Flopkart altogether!
