Story:

I bought this book after I heard of it, but with lot of apprehension. For one it was written by an Indian in English and not an established or full time writer but a person like you and me in the mainstream of life. I took a chance because unlike books of famous writers this was priced affordably. And then afterall it was about IIT students who of late have been in news for their accomplishments. But I was pleasantly surprised. For a first time novice Chetan Bhagat has done a wonderful job and needs to be patted on the back. Its no great literary work but then how many of us really enjoy great literary works. This novel is for you and me to read and enjoy and then forget about. May not be something to be treasured for years. Chetan has narrated the experiences of three IIT students in our English- the English you and me understand and speak- in a very easy and uncomplicated style and still managed to keep all ingredients of an interesting fiction intact. The book is full of situations where you laugh but with sadness and fully empathise with our heroes ( or losers ) even when they are virtually behaving in a so called unacceptable manner. After reading the book you feel that you could have also written this book, but then it takes the likes of Chetan Bhagat to really translate this feeling into reality and not everybody can do it. But its a book which you can easily relate to and enjoy every bit of it without skipping a word. Worth every penny I would say.
