Though not an ardent fan of Hindi movies, I used to watching them.. and many times curse God afterwards (as I dislike cursing myself!). HE has generated a species known as Heroines: only to attract and push us into that disgusting theatre environments and loot our money. (Now a film show costs more than Rs.100 – evenif I act blind towards my best friend to offer him an O/C ticket). So I hate these ladies to the core! How dare they provoke me to see such nonsense stories (with few exceptions). So here is my hate-list!
5. Regal Rai:
Damage caused: Mainly plunder your pocket money. But this can be avoided by thinking about her acting, to a great extent!
Aish on number five. Plundered a bigger share of my money and time. She was marvellous in Hum Dil De Chuke sanam. And I went to Hamara Dil Apke Paas Hai only to see her (What a fool I was!). And got irritated by third-rate wits by Anupam Kher and Team. In Devdas, I felt she is too lean to adore. Now (after Dil ka Rista) I decided to see her posters only and avoid seeing film unless my friends kick me out of my room to the theatre.
4. Intoxicating Rekha:
Damage caused: Monetarily less harmful. But the thoughts that kill!
Khiladiyon ka Khailadi. Once upon a time, after seeing her Khubsoorat, my friend and I were formulating 10 ways to marry Rekha. Think he sent few letters also. Her dusky features (I read Late Meena Kumari called her Numkeen: If so, she was 101% right) made her the cult-figure for Mujra - who can imagine an Umrao Jan played by X or Y? I think she is also perfect to embody Cleopatra. Don’t act in more than two films per year – Otherwise Main burbad ho javunga !!
3. Classical Shobana:
Damage caused: Lovable to the core and has its side effects. Searching her posters waste a good part of my time, which are really rare. (Why the poster makers go behind the painted faces only ?)
When I was boy, I thought God can’t make more beautiful girls than her. She mainly acted in South Indian movies. And is a wonderful Bharatanatyam performer. But Mitr – my friend, made her familiar with the Hindi viewers also. She also participated in Bachchan’s Kabhi Kabhi music album. Her beauty was classical, and she could transform herself into ultra-modern, and still having all charms. And unlike many beauties, she had a well-defined onscreen personality also. And above all, she is a two-time National award winner, yaar! [For her pictures visit, https://shobana.org/]
2. Scintillating Sri Devi:
Damages: All that a bottle of Vodka does!. Loot money, energy and time. Leave us half-conscious. But dear, I really want to get burgled!
With her Kaate nahim (Mr. India), I realized my transformation from a boy to a man. I am afraid to say her to be over-the-top in few of her films: but she gave everything an average Bollywood lover wanted. She acted even in an adult movie called Naseeli Jawani (I didn’t / couldn’t see it, but my friends told “Great”). Her voice was childish, but still no one can stop loving her. She was more stunning with less makeup and in traditional dress. When will you restart acting in films? I have to save something for that time!
1. Magical Madhuri:
Danger: How dare u asked this question? Maar Dala..!
All say her smile kills. Virtually it killed the career of Mr. Sanjay Kapoor. In her Raja song (Akhiyan..) who will notice that poor guy? Even my pappa (who deliberately avoids all Hindi-movie-related-aspects and stick only to Malayalam movies) couldn’t resist asking “who is she ?” by accidentally seeing her Raja smile in TV. I knew he also became green to Dr. Nene, like I was suffering for last few years. More than any of this list, she can cause mortal peril. Be careful!
