At first glance, this is such any easy question. Why yes, I'd like a week in Ireland, a landscaper to follow me around as I design a new garden and then do the digging etc. There are many things large and small. But, with more thought, if it were my day to have anything-here's what I ask.
From my husband-Surprise me with a night away. This means pick a date, make the reservation, arrange for our son to stay with someone-. Just tell me, pack your bag for Friday night and it's all set. Let there be time just for us.
From my son-Sit next to me like when you were little and tell me about your day. Hug more, even if it isn't cool.
From my stepsons. From number 1-stay close to your little brother and keep the door open for your other brother. He will need you one day. For number 2-Spend time away from the girlfriend who requires all your attention. Don't let her isolate you from your family and friends.
From my friends. Live for today and tomorrow. Leave the grievances of yesterday behind and give today your full attention.
From the world. I would ask one perfect day. One day when no one anywhere is fighting, every child goes to sleep with a full stomach, no one is abused or frightened. Maybe in that miracle of a day, the seeds of a better future can be sown.
It's not too much to wish for.
