For the task of selecting my top reviews, I would like to take a few liberties, that is…er.to add –er- to review. My favorite reviewers on MS and their best reviews. My criteria for choosing - active writers who have been contributing heavily both in terms of quantity and quality in the last one and half months. On that basis this is my list:
Just_did_it: One of the best writers on MS, all his reviews are thoughtful and insightful. But what I like best about him is that he never misses rating and is always ready with good, relevant comments on most of the reviews. He has a deep analytical mind and I wish everyone at MS(including me) was as logical and rational while writing and rating reviews. Confession: I doubt weather I would have been motivated enough to continue writing without the wonderful words of encouragement that I keep receiving from him on a regular basis. My favorite - My Experiments with Depression - https://mouthshut.com/readreview/20028-1.html
Spookaay: Among the current writers, I enjoy reading his reviews the most. All his reviews are packed with dollops of humor. He manages to bring in a personal element in whatever he writes. And the writing style is such, that you want to read every single word that he writes. Best of the lot: The Theory of Evolution of Beauty Contest-https://mouthshut.com/readreview/21141-1.html
Satishkl: Satya, as he likes being called is my candidate for the inclusion in star writer’s category. He has a easy, breezy style of writing which is fun to read. Even more enjoyable are the smart-alec comments that he passes after most reviews. My fav: Intense - https://mouthshut.com/readreview/18904-1.html.
Tongue-in-Cheek: A man of many words and a born writer. Cheeky, in just 18 days has written 22 reviews. A keen observer of everything around him, I believe that if I were to pick a pebble from road and give it to him, within an hour he would be ready with a 1000 word review on it. My fav: My maid servant just became Miss World! - https://mouthshut.com/readreview/21563-1.html
For the fifth reviewer – I will do the usual fence-sitting and instead of selecting one, select a dozen.
Loverboy4U: I like frank and honest writing and can rely on Rahul to write honest, scathing reviews without any reservations.
Pooj: I really envy her for the number of hits and ratings she gets on her every review!
Plus Ranran, Madlalya, Asyis, Azhar, S.Imran, Reviewer, Teena, Annu, Cousin2, Jilmil, Meleahk1, milind, niraj, nanda, Salil, Thumb-in-mouth, Pete, dhaval and many others.
Now for some of the best reviews that I have read on MS. It was too much hard work digging out the best of the best and I managed to read only a few hundred out of thousands and out of those, I have omitted all those reviews which have been already selected by others.
“The Worst brings out the Best in us” * What could be worse than the #1 movie on my hate list – K3G. Expectedly K3G has provoked everyone to write at their venomous best. It is difficult to pick the best one – Suyog’s review has a better spacing and layout and so is more readable - *https://mouthshut.com/readreview/16823-1.html, but the funniest one was curchillo99’s “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi numb(dumb)” https://mouthshut.com/readreview/16908-1.html
Patriotism also brings out the best in us…and also the worst. So I new I would find some gem in India-General category. The best one was by Riks(Rakesh) that put more stress on global harmony than on flag-waving type of patriotism. https://mouthshut.com/readreview/8652-1.html
I also liked few other reviews by Riks – the movie reviews on Gadar and Lagaan. The Gadar review was special for he gave a live example of how such movies feed feelings of communalism and hatredness, which is disastrous for a country like India.

Amrita’s review on the Times of India - Love her or hate her, but you can’t ignore this fiery women. Her best was of course on Bazee.com, but this was a close second. https://mouthshut.com/readreview/3456-1.html
Equally enjoyable was the one on the movie “Kaho Na Pyar hai” – though I don’t agree with her that Hrithik Roshan looks like a girl and is not manly. https://mouthshut.com/readreview/5952-1.html. This review also provoked one of the best, most sarcastic comments on her by pete_apf: https://mouthshut.com/readcomment.php?rid=5952&r=1
And Finally the most weird review I have read on MS:
Geddaliphe’s take on the movie “Moulin Rouge”. I initially couldn’t make any sense of it and gave it SR, but changed by opinion after a few more readings. It is outrageously funny, very imaginative – written from the viewpoint of a “lace doily covered bed” https://mouthshut.com/readreview/21289-1.html
