I remember Madhu more for her controversies than her beauty. People say that she was beautiful but perhaps she never falls into my beauty definition.
She was known for her long time boyfriend, Milind Soman and a shoes advertisement with him - Tuff Shoes. She is also remembered for her answer at Mis Universe 1992. Question was what she would do if she was the prime minister of her country. Madhu gave an answer that she would build a sports complex. That costs her dearly. Though she got 9.9 in swim suit round and favorite to win the crown, she was second runner-up in the contest.
Currently she is married to and Italian Gian Maria Ementadori. Nevertheless, she was perhaps first female super model of India without a doubt
No 4 goes to Yana Gupta,she is 33 – 24 – 34 just short of perfect 36-24-36.
She is basically from Czechoslovakia. She came to India for a tour and met Satya Gupta over a cup of coffee. They fallen in love and got married. Yana was doing modeling since teen age for skin care products (Nivea and Shiseido) in Milan, Paris. Once she settled down at India she started getting modeling assignments and quickly became Lakme's new face. She became most popular with a super hit song “babuji jara dhire chalo”.Recently she has joined as brand ambassador of KingFisher Airlines.
No 3 spot belongs to Lisa Raya girl from Toronto, Canada. A daughter of Bengali father and Polish Mother. She is Aries born on 4th April.
She catches eyes of the people with her first campaign for Bombay Dyeing. Then she never looked back and featured for other products like Lakme, Sprite, Matiz, Monte Carlo, Garden Saree and Rado watches.
She is a versatile performer. She hosted two popular shows on TV also namely “Star Buzz” & “BPL OYE !”. She has worked in Vikram Bhatt’s “Kasoor” also. But her most significant TV appearance was two music Videos. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan´s music video Aaafreen aafreenand Daler Mehendi´s Har taraf tera jalwa.
There were some rumors for to her name like, her ex boy friend beaten her badly or she has taken overdose of drugs for which she had to take a break. After returning from a break she cleared all such rumors. She is best remembered to me for her great green eyes.
No 2 goes to Meher Jessia,Ex Miss India 1986, one of the best model till date.
When we talk about Meher, we have to talk about three other persons. Sangeeta Chopra who transformed Meher from a simple teenager into a good ramp model. Photographer Faroukh Jussawalla who suggested her to take part in the Femina Miss India contest. Last but not the least Mickey Contractor. Meher thinks that he never allowed Meher to look same in two campaigns.
Her most popular advertisements were Bombay Dyeing Lakme's winter cream, Vimal, OCM, Nivea, Palmolive, Philips.
She retired when she was on top and get married to Arjun Rampalwho was lesser known than her at that time. Currently she is running a modeling school and a modeling agency.

From her teen age she knew that what she wanted to be. She was crystal clear that she wanted to be model and she started perusing her dream. She featured first time in a magazine “Society” on back cover page. This started her successful journey. She caught attention with a notorious MR coffee campaign. I have not seen that but read about it. After that she had worked for products like Pearl Pet, Bare Necessities, Mafatlal , Benzer, Tanishq, Tribhuvandhas Bhimji. She is also having two big MNC names in her endorsement list – Yahoo ! and Pizza Hut.
She entered entertainment world with a video song “Gori Naal Ishq Mita” with Hash Arora. This song turned the fortune of Malaika as well as Farah Khan, new comer at that time. After that she has done her most famous work - ''Chhaiya Chhaiya” songwith Shahrukh in Mani Ratnam movie ''Dil se''. She also featured in ''Kaante'' and ''Kaal'' then after but still remembered for “Chhaiya Chhaiya” more.
I personally like Lisa ray & Meher Jessia more than Malaika but Malaika has made a mark in Indian fashion world. So she has to be no 1 model till date.

At the end I like to say that I have not considered here Sangeeta Bijalani, Poonam Dhillon, Juhi Chawala, Bipasha basu, Aishwarya rai, Shushmita who are basically model but far more known as actress now a days.
