The thing with great actors and actresses is that they can convert an ordinary movie with weak direction into unforgettable ones.
case in point:
Kramer Vs Kramer:Nothing about the story line or the direction would make any one thing twice about the movie.
Brilliant performances by Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep made sure that the movie has been etched in our memories.
These are my favourite actors of all time.
There have been many actors who are missing simply because I have never had a chance to see many movies of theirs like Marlon Brando(only seen The Godfather and Apocalypse Now)
1.Al Pacino
Whenever you see a movie with Al Pacino in it,you can be sure you will be entertained with raw acting.
Al Pacino matched Marlon Brando scene by scene in the Godfather and then came back to give an equally fantastic performance in the sequel.
How this guy has only won 1 Oscar will always be a mystery to me.
His only Oscar was for Scent of a Womanwhich seems to be a favourite with the MS members!.He plays a blind guy brilliantly with great conviction and gutso.
The guy also played the Devil in the Devils Advocate brilliantly,with a great smile and also with cruel intentions(but not giving them away)
His role in Donnie Brasco was really good and the movie feautred two extraordinary actors in himself and Johnny Depp.

2.Tom Hanks
People might say that he has been really lucky to get a variety of roles in the last 10 years but then if you have two academy awards in the kitty who wouldnt?
He will be best remembered for playing a lovable IDIOT with an IQ of 70 who goes on to become a millionare in Forrest Gump
He had great roles in movies like Philadelphia,Saving Private Ryan and Castaway
His role of a guy marooned on a island was fantastic in Castaway and he carried the entire movie on his shoulders without any dialogue and only with his acting.
3.Robert De Niro
The performance of this actor in Martin Scorcese's Raging Bull was breathtaking playing a boxing champion and a very short tempered boxing champion at that.
One of the best actors ever,he played a young Marlon Brando in Godfather 2.
Fantastic Screen presence and being a master of method acting, he has graced the big screen for quite some time now.
He has been making good comedy movies as well with Analyze this and Meet the Parents
His performance in Men of Honour was good.
4.Anthony Hopkins
Anthony Hopkins will no doubt be well known mostly for his work as the brilliant Dr. Lecter in the trilogy.
He brought Thomas Harris's character to the big screen with much intensity and has helped in creating a brand, where in Lecter movies are now a precious commodity and no doubt more will follow.
His work was fantastic in the award winning Silence of the Lambsand Hannibal
I also loved him in Instinct and also the real slow Meet Joe Black where in his performance lifted a certain Mr.Brad Pitt as well!.
5.Denzel Washington
For those of you who want to know the talent of this guy just wait for The Hurricane to release on Star movies soon.
His performance in the controversial movie was very good and I still dont know how Kevin Spacey got the nod over him for the academy award.
Well the academy compensated for his bad cop performance last year in Training Day.
He was fantastic along with Angelina Jolie in The Bone Collector and also in movies like Fallen and also in Pelican Brief.
His character of the lawyer in Philadelphia was fantastic as well! and provided an ideal foil for the academy award winning Tom Hanks
Guys who couldnt make it because of lack of space!
