I love these categories! The diversity of the community both in culture and age makes for some very interesting choices. These are songs I consider timeless.
Misty Johnny Mathis classic version evokes many memories. Johnny Mathis tunes were part of every guy's seduction collection when I was in college.(Iron Butterfly and Johnny Mathis on the same tape was an interesting but strangely effective combination)
Unchained Melody Long before this Righteous Brother's song was rediscovered in the movie'Ghost' it was a major hit for the'submarine race watching' crowd. Such beautiful https://lyrics.
In My Life The Beatles. This song is so simple and direct. 'tho' I know I'll never lose affection for people and things that came before. I know I'll often stop and think about them. But in my life-I love you more.'
Unforgettable I like the original Nat King Cole version best, but the remastered version combining Nat's voice with daughter Natalie Cole is also beautiful.
The First Time Roberta Flack's soft moving song of love. Celine Dion also did a version of this song on her'All the Way' CD which is also very well done.
And because there are so many more than five. I would also place the following way up on the list.
The Rose Bette Midler
Evergreen Barbra Streisand
Perhaps Love Placido Domingo and John Denver
Three Times a Lady * Lionel Ritchie
Now that I've been thinking of all these songs.Hmmmmm. I think I'll put the stereo on and light a few candles and.
