Due to the growing increase in the number of people who have access to cable television, the entertainment industry has in itself registered an enormous growth. Nowadays, there are hundreds of channels meting out cheap entertainment. But, amongst these only a few of them actually provide quality programming and entertainment. Here are a few of them which I consider to be the best :-
1) AXN :- Well, I am basically not a soap opera kinda guy, I prefer fast-paced entertainment. So it comes as no surprise that AXN tops my list. Though ‘Survivor’ may be off the air now, with the introduction of innovative programs like ‘Scariest Places on Earth’ and ‘Fear factor’, AXN has certainly managed to keep the magic going. Not to mention that they air some pretty good movies occasionally.
2) HBO/Star Movies :- I have put these two together cause its very difficult to distinguish between them. Both are excellent channels and both put some pretty good movies. The only difference could be that HBO has lesser commercials whereas Star Movies has more special events such as Oscars etc.
3) Star World :- ‘Whose Line is it Anyway ?’ , ’Drew Carey Show’, ’Friends’, ’That 70’s show’, ’Happy Days’, ‘Mork and Mindy’ …….Do I need to say more ? And, of course, looking forward to ‘Temptation Island 2’.
4) MTV :- The Complete Music channel or rather should I say the Complete Youth chanel. Apart from innovative shows and good music, the wacky stuff like ‘Filmi Fundaas’, ‘Fully Faltoo’ etc raise the quality of entertainment so much higher. A channel for everyone young at heart.
5) FTV :- And, last but definitely not the least, good ol’ FTV. I know there’s been a lot of debating over this channel. But the bottom line is, whoever you are, nobody can resist watching pretty girls walk the ramp and that’s what makes this channel a huge success. I don’t really care what other people think, I still say its wholesome entertainment.
Well, one channel I really forgot to mention is ‘Cartoon Network’…FTV and Cartoon Network..Hmm strange combination…well, I believe most boys never grow up, so a cartoon is always funny however old you are. These are I think, the stuff that still keeps the television alive and kickin….
