Fashion’s legitimate brother:
Fashion - a term with many dimensions. The definition differs from person to person. To some it maybe the most important thing in day to day life while to some it may be just an unneeded affair while some might simply not care. Fashion to me is one of the most important things that helps a person carry himself. It's not about the newest trend that matters, but It's how you look at this term as a whole. As my mind roams to find the meaning of what we call “Fashion”, I reach to the conclusion that Comfort is the legal and beloved brother to Fashion. Comfort with one-self, comfort with environment and of course comfort with the society.
Comfort with one-self:
If you can't feel yourself, but some unknown nervousness after what you wear, you are simply not enjoying what you are wearing. For me, I am at my best when I wear my Van Heusen shirt. The best thing about Van Heusen shirts is, they let the shirt speak. There is no icon found anywhere on the shirt highlighting it's brand. But whenever I wear it, I get tired of saying'Thank You' to each n' every compliment that comes my way. If you are of the lot who spends most of the office time working at a client site or in official meetings or with your boss, Van Heusen is a must in your wardrobe. For me, this brand simply works.
Another brand that keeps me at ease with myself is Allen Solly. Allen Solly shirts simply tune Fridays to the very much needed relaxed mood after the rush-rush of a hectic week. They have a cool variety of casual shirts one can wear at office. Do check on the variety of shades in checks, this brand has to offer.
For those important official meetings, I usually dress myself in Louis Philippe shirts and trousers. The look and texture of Louis Philippe apparels simply add that extra something to ones' personality. The easy feeling these line of outfits provide simply keep one with oneself and nowhere else. After wearing these apparels, the first thing I find in the mirror is a smile lit up on my face. And I can safely say, *'That's me.'
Comfort with environment:
Just like comfort with self, comfort with environment matters a lot. Let's take a day out of a season that's simply hot and dangerously humid. Now imagine yourself walking on the road under the sun Wearing your favourite Corduroy Shirt. It maybe a cool shirt, but it's simply not for the weather. The summer demands for linens, cottons, cotton - linen blends and cotton - lycra blends. For a linen shirt, Zodiac is the best deal. And a linen trouser from Zodiac makes a summer day the coolest one.
If you are looking for pure cotton apparels, go for Colorplus, Parx and Park Avenue from Raymonds. If you are into luxurious clothing and prices really don't matter, Manzoni from Raymonds is for you. Though I don't own any apparels from Manzoni, I can't help admiring them when on a shopping spree. But when my eyes rush for the price tag, I don't mind playing the wolf in the tale of the wolf and the sour grapes.
If looking for some cool casuals, Indigo Nation & Scullers are the best bet. Go for Indigo Nation over-shirts and Scullers Chinos, Cargos or Khakis. Now for the winters one can't wear the paper thin linens. This is the season when corduroy apparels and denims can be sported to keep safe from the chill of the climate. For denims and casuals, Killer, Pepe and Lewis are my personal favorites. Killer for it's over shirts and denim shirts while Pepe and Lewis for their jeans and denim jackets. If you wish to wear a pair of denims to office on Saturdays, Allen Solly's new range of work wear jeans are just for you - Just clean and basic to the right amounts.
Comfort with society:
Comfort with society is as important as the above two. Matching with social surroundings is very important to feel at ease with oneself. Or one might end up feeling out of place. What one wears speaks tons about what type of person he is. It's very important to know what am I wearing and where am I heading to with the same on. If you are going to office, you simply can't wear the shirt you wear at clubs or late night parties. As for the formals, I have mentioned a lot about them above. Now for the night creatures, Charagh Din has a great lineup of party wear. Charagh Din party apparels simply set Saturdays ablaze. Provogue too has some interesting products of desire, but somehow I find Provogue a lill' bit limited on variety side. But Provogue does offer some cool shades to color those Saturday nights.
