Ours is a wild culture filmy wise!(wood=forest=wild; showing my Thesaurus capability!!) and we have had to bear so much of torture, pain, agony and all those enduring stuff for all these yearss(1900+ to 2000+)with some pure entertainment just to keep us dreaming!!(Pavlov's experiment on Dogs by correlating The ringing Bell to the Food and cheating with only the Ringing Bell and not the Food!!(what an Analogy as Spooks says)

Ok, before you give that dreaded rating NR and close that window , which I am sure you are going to give and banish me and blablabla (sounded like Cyrus Broacha's tabla??),let me get serious about the topic which is choosing the actresses who have made me wanting for more (wanting for more?..I need a hypnotist(hypotenuse) as I am unable to concentrate and am sounding bracketty!!).
I will list 5(fi) of my favorite Bollywood actresses as I have been bribed to do so(Tehelka.com will have live recordings and the cassettes used were pirated ones!!)
1)Waheeda Rehman: She is the Granny of AR REHMAN(just for the rekurds and I haven't missed a single movie of hers and this also is for the recurds!! Did you see how artistically the K changed to C)!!
I will act sanely and will start the selection process all over again(I know there are limits as Patience tends from zero to infinity)
My choices are a bit outdated and are in no way intended to make myself look older. But I would prefer to have them as my favorites and must admit that I haven't seen many of their movies. The ones that I have seen of them should be sufficient to have them in my list.

PS: Don't they look like angels who have descended from above and are swimming(old Pari movies!!). Three of them look unique in the swimming scene!!(Trivia:Can you tell me what it is and why??)
All the above are veterans aren't they? I guess the reason they figure here is because there aren't many quality movies that are coming out and the movies of now are a lot melodramatic for me to tolerate. I do not want to imply that the old ones were more realistic but felt that they relatively had good story lines, good songs and good performances. Also, I personally feel that they are and were human beings with those elusive good souls (I belong to the foot one(sole!) I know!!)I loved to watch those black and white movies (nope! not the Michael Jaikishan one!) thanks to the technology which was so basic at that time yessa...Paleolithic!!)
1) Waheeda Rehman:She looked gorgeous in those B/W movies with DevAnand and didn't those movies have a lot of depth in the characters(depth..can we make 'p' silent as... 'b' in debt? and we have today's de(a)th in characters!!).She had a beautiful voice (I hate Sridevi's,Urmila's,Rakhi's and Hema Malini's voices which sound like those chewed audiotapes which are played on that old cassette player with the batteries ready for the graveyard or me when I am trying to express myself in Hindi; I had to express my dislike you know). She could dance so gracefully that even our PM would get up and dance (Is the PM weak on his knees?)

2) Smitha Patil:She was an actress who had those beautiful expressive eyes (I saw a lot of sorrow in them I believe (U dint see?)) She did some nice meaning full movies (sounded like your Granny!) and was an art film director's delight.Died of some childbirth complications with a lot of untapped potential at a young age of 31 and had left behind her mark which many dream of(Not those scent markings by the animals on the tree stumps,poles and walls etc You ....)

3)Nargis Dutt: The Czars loved her because she was so enigmatic (magnetic-I am good at the jumble thing!!!) and enthralled the fans all over the world!!(Ok..Ok...The Indian fans!!)She and RajKapoor made for a deadly combination(Srinath and VPrasad if they play now!!) and people still remember their jodi (I do at least!). Bulk of her hits were with Raj Kapoor and after Raj kapoor's death, Doordarshan had screened some of the Hit movies of Him(RajK) alongside Nargis and I did enjoy watching those movies.(I was a bachha then and you can imagine what I would have understood)

4) Shabana Azmi:My liking is partly due to her personality as a whole that has a powerful aura about it (Tonsured Shabana <>Tonsured Demi Moore!!) <> means Not equal to
She has a mind and she makes use of it doesn't she? I remember watching her on TV attending and participating in those parliamentary sessions with utmost alertness and sincerity in a place that used to be (still is) the best example for bunking sessions and can put your college to shame (I know this is irrelevant but she was acting the real life you know!!)
Acting wise,she always seems to give those controlled performances which is a difficult art to master.She is prepared to play the OFFBEAT(hatkey) characters and always has the social issues in mind though the Fundamental Hindu society thinks the other way round.( How selfless of the Society!!)

5) Nutan: Amitabh cheated on her in that old movie SAUDAGAR (Remember the Jaggery seller in that movie??). I somehow hated Amitabh in that movie because I felt Nutan's character sacrificed a lot and our tall man took advantage of it (you still are blowing that soap bubble out of that RIN soap Soltn aren't you? 'cos I am deviating!! or did I not deviate? ).She did a lot of justice to the Indian Naari roles without that extra effort(over acting!!)
