My first experience with firstcry made me cry

I had ordered a huggies diaper pack on the firstcry.com website on 23rd Nov 2011. They have the courier delivery service with FirstFlight. I could see that the parcel was dispatched from Pune after 2 hours of my order and I was very much impressed with that.


On the next day(Nov 24), I saw on the firstflight website that the parcel has reached the destination(bangalore). But immediately after an hour, they had update in the site that the address is insufficient. It is the same address that we have been staying from the past 5 years and have received so many couriers. Even our telephone bill, power bill gets delivered to that address. To my dismay, I tried to call firstflight website multiple times, but their customer care number does not work. Here is my review on the firstflight service:

Finally, on Nov25th my wife got  a call from firstflight courier guy and we were told that the courier will be delivered anytime today and to be at home to receive the same. We waited for it till evening, but not one turned up. We also called the firstcry customer care. They were courteous enough and told us that we will receive the parcel  by tomorrow.


On Nov 26th, again the firstflight courier guy calls up and informs us that the courier will be delivered today and asks us to be at home. But no one turns up.


Nov27th: Sunday


On Nov 28th, the courier guy again calls up and tells that the courier will be delivered today. We had enough of it. I called the firstcry website and I was give an assurance that the courier will be delivered at any cost today itself. But later the courier guys call my wife 3 times and say that they cannot deliver it that day.  Finally I had to call the firstcry again and ask them to refund my money as I had enough of it. Customer care of firstcry is very courteous enough, but their courier counterpart is pathetic. They harassed us and the courier guys used to call my wife again and again. Finally we decided to lodge a police complaint against the courier guys.


Bottomline: Firstcry website is good, but the courier counterpart is really pathetic. If they find that the person on the other side is a female they start harassing. This is our genuine experience. I would consider buying on firstcry if they go some standard and professional courier service like bluedart.
