I rarely buy clothes online because its always better to try it before specially when its comes to size and quality. A friend of mine recommended firstcry.com for buying clothes for kids. She had a good experience with the site and said they had good brands. I decided to try it out by buying one frock and a toy for my daughter.
So the site is pretty good and straight forward. You can search on the basis of gender, age and interests of your kid. I found a frock that I liked and after seeing the size and the age I decided to buy it. It came under their 'Try and Buy' policy. It basically means that you can try the product while the delivery person waits and if the size is not right then you can return it and refund will be initiated in next 48hrs. The payment was smooth and was done without any issues. The product was delivered in 3days. The delivery person came while my daughter was in school so she was not able to try it. The package was well packed with bubble wrap. Along with the 2 items that I ordered firstcry sent a measurement kit that contained a measuring tape, foot measuring chart and a coupon, all which would be useful for future purchases.
The frock was of good quality but unfortunately when my daughter tried it later it did not fit her. Clothes have a 30day return time from date of delivery. I went on the site and started to look for their return item link. I searched in my account link and all tabs above but could not find it. Finally started scrolling the site and right below at almost the end of the site under Shipping and Policies I found a link for return policy. You can return the item by either calling them on the given number or by emailing them stating your reason for return. It was not a toll free number so I emailed them. Next day I got a call from them that they had refunded the money to my firstcry account and a delivery staff will come to collect the frock in 7-10 days. You do not get cash back to your bank account. You get it in firstcry account to use it you need to buy something from the site. The delivery guy came the very next day and collected the frock.
Here are a few suggestions I have for firstcry
*- Please make a proper link for returning an item. Email could make it a long process and the number provided for customer care is not toll free.
-It would be good if the delivery staff makes a call before he comes to collect an item that has to be returned so that we are present at home when he arrives.** In my case no call was made.
Overall a good site to shop for your kids.
