WELCOME to hell on wheels. Gizmo-stacked cars travel at the speed of lightning, the dudes at the wheels care a damn about their lives which are hopelessly vacuous anyway, and the women entwined around the sleazy riders are suitably oh-so-casually hip. In The Fast And The Furious lane arrives a golden-haired guy (Walker) who wants to be a part of the wild-and-wanton gang. After the initial resistance, he's accepted by the gang's major domo (Diesel) and also embraced with open arms by the domo's extra-sensuous sister (Jordanna Brewster). So what's the hitch? Golden boy, we learn, happens to be an undercover cop who must round up the gang for their truck hijacking antics. Morals be damned. The cop, eventually, allows the law-breakers to get off scot-free. The film was a surprise hit at the US box-office - obviously for its hard rock music score, cheap thrills and unchecked irreverence. See it, but only if you're in the mood for an uneasy ride with the speed fiends.
