My Expectation
I don't have any idea about this Fashion world. What I know
is, some beautiful women and men walk on a ramp to showcase some design. They
are well paid and their professional life is short compared to the other
industries.
After watching the Page3 (Again I don't know about that world but Bhandarkar
convinced me that it may be the true what he shows in movie Page3), also Chandi
Bar, I treated that Madhur Bhandarkar are among those very few directors who
have the ability to portrait the real world through a good bollywood drama.
So my expectation of the Fashion was something like that.
But after watching that movie at least I am not convinced that Fashion world
are like that. It is obvious that no where in the film it is declared that it
is meant to be real. I know my expectation was liable for it.
Almost I like the performance of the cast. It is good. For some it is the best
till now. Kangana is now the specialist for such type of roll. I like to watch
her in a different role.
Some points what I did not like in the movie due to my expectation..
The whole movie plot is very fast. The fate of the Meghna Mathur changes very
fast. Just after doing one two ramp shows she was in the top. Again after some
shows she was at the bottom.
Only one company rules the industry. So there is no competition in this
industry. I found it absurd.
In the whole movie in the every scene the female models appeared with
Cigarette. But in the whole movie no male model are seen to smoke. At least the
country like India,
where male smoker is always more than the female smoker it is difficult to
digest. So may be in the fashion industry only it is opposite to the whole India. Is
it more or less true or something..(Some years back I read in a news article on
the Tobacco industry that the Tobacco industry investing huge money to promote
the female smoking in India,
Male smoker is more or less saturated. As direct advertising is ban here so indirectly
they have to promote it. May be that's one of the important reason whenever we
come across any type of media article on smoking the photo is always with a
woman smoker). I am not against the smoking of a female citizen but against it
how it is portrayed here for the marketing.
I at least don't know any Industry where any one hampers their own career to
boost up a career of other who already lost. (At the end of the Movie one
top designer bet his career for the Meghna Mathur, the lead protagonist in the
movie). Don’t understand why Rohit, (one Gay guy form this industry) tried to promote Meghna through out the
movie.
The physical relationship between a Negros was
the eye opener for the Meghna Mathur and she immediately tried to be a good
person. Still Do we hate the persons with black complexion so that it drastically change our views towards the life?
If anyone is drug addicted (at least at the level which is shown here)
she/he can't quit it so easily. But it happens in the movie and shown in the
case of Meghna.
After returning back of the Meghna, I found that the world which was so competitive
now became easy after that one year. People are still remembering Meghna, though
she has a very short time span there.
Only Sunsilk add is shown couple of time. Is there no other assignment
for a top level model?
Overall I am not satisfied (completely due to my different kind of expectation
from the director) with this movie. It can be executed more beautifully. More
realistic approach could be taken to make it, so that I was (many like me) were
convinced that this glamorous world is like this. Anyway recommended for a good
Bollywood drama where sentiment, sex are properly mixed and cooked.
