Am amazed that no one has yet posted a review on the excellent album, Fallen by Evanescence here on MS.com. To start off, Evanescence are a band comprised of the lead vocalist Amy Lee, and lead guitarist Ben Moody, who are the original founders of the band and from Arkansas(Bill Clinton-ville) They were later joined up by Jon LeCompt(guitars) and Rocky Gray (drums) The album has 2 sides and a total of 11 tracks. The opening song, ie- Going Under starts well and is a seeming roller coaster of emotions, with some nifty guitar work by Ben Moody. amy Lee's vocal talent stands out in this track, as she controls the song, its tempo and its apocalyptic feel. The video is also quite good, and bears a similarity to the Duran Duran come Undone video(for you 80s freaks). the song leads you into a higher pitch(roller coaster like) and then just lets you float(when you're at the top of the incline of the roller coaster) when Amy sings, I'm dying again.

Easliy the best track of the album. Bring Me to life, which follows next is the stand out song in this album, its already blazed its way up the charts and is a song, which bathroom singers(by popular demand) like me can howl out! Everybody's fool opens well with a good guitar sequence and breaks into a fasdt paced and a catchy tune. My Immortal is a quite number, with Amy's vocals standing out again! the song is very rich in lyrics and talks about wounds not healing, lingering pain, and ideal for all 'those' moments. Haunted, the next track, starts off on a haunted note(as in them seedy horror flicks), and is in my opinion not a good track in this album, and the songs pace is also just ok, not very slow. the track seems disjointed and is not in the league of Going under. Torniquet, which follows is a different track with a different beat, as compared tp the other songs on this album, and talks about 'the sweet release' from pain. Altho' better than haunted, it is just about average and Ben's guitars do a good job, keeping this track afloat. Imaginary, starts off well with a smooth violin sequence and then shifts quickly in to rock mode. the shift back to the vocals mode is even swifter, with the lyrics being well written (>>in my field of paper flowers and candy clouds of lullaby I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me swallowed up in the sound of my screaming cannot cease for the fear of silent nights oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming the goddess of imaginary light <<) Taking Over me, is another shift song, shifting between Amys vocals and the medley, this track is average and I always ffw this track while driving. :-) Hello, is also not very bright and I didnt quite like it(the only song, that I dont like on this album) My last breath is a song which is like Hello, not very hummable, sing-able or melodious in general, with heavy metal and just an ok feel to it. The last track is Whisper, which I like, it starst off fast , and then Amy takes control, (like the roller coaster in Going Under).

The backing vocals, arrangement and the choir effect are brilliant. Such songs will go well with the Dracula movies and stuff. The songs on this album are a mix of Gothic rock and stirring vocals from Amy Lee. She is definately is in the Annie Lennox and Enya league of strong, powerful and stirring female vocalists, with smooth and heavenly voices! All in all, a very good buy, I got mine at Planet M, on a 2 cassette pack, withy the other cassette being a edits tape of a few new artists, which I havent even lookied at.
