ESPN, part of the ESPN-Star sports duo is definately one of the better channels available on the airwaves today. ESPN has some great programming with good shows like the old stalwart, Sportscenter. It also focuses on my favorite Football(Soccer to some of you :) ). It has programmes ranging from X games, Cricket, Football, the Asian Bowling Tour, Golf, Basketball sometimes, Talk Shows and Interviews.
Their recent series Sachin Speaks, featuring the Master Sachin Tendulkar, is just about ok tho'.
Their quality in telecasting Cricket and Football is just too good. The ease with which Harsha Bhogle talks to people is just too good, there are very few bloopers (so to speak), if any at all. The sets that they have are also quite ok. Their lead-ins are good too. Commentators like Sidhu(altho' not preferred by all) add spice to a sometimes dull broadcast(esp. when we are losing). What can I say about ESPN without talking about Super Selector? The massive online game has a huge following in colleges and schools, with people trying to outfox each other online. It is a great concept, to which we seem to have taken to nicely. Anyways, an overall good channel, which has good programming .
