For a movie with such a hype, just living up to the expectation is a great success. Endhiran does live up to its expectations, if not more.Me to tell you the cast, crew will be a repeat .. you would have already known by now. First kudos to Shankar to have come up with a stunner, in terms of graphics and cinematography and concept. By far, the best film ever made in India on that grounds. You will come out of the theatre with an effect of having watched a Hollywood movie. Way to go, Indian cinema!
There are loads I liked about the movie, but the best part is that it is an understandable sci-fi. It does not compromise on the logic part as well. Its a well etched out script and entertainingly executed. That said, I wish the 'songs' were placed better in the movie. They were real speed breakers in an otherwise racy screenplay. The beginning of the second half fails to make any impact and the two songs 'kilimanjaro' and 'irumbile' causes fairly high restlessness.
Its a fun show in the first half and the story builds up beautifully. Story is what you have heard so far - Vaseegaran (Rajini as scientist) creates a robo that can behave like humans. He sets the robo out to the world and his aim is to 'donate' the robo to indian army. There is shankar touch in every frame in these sequences. But the robo falls in love with vaseegaran's girlfriend (aishwarya rai) and ends up in love failure! Now, the bad elements enter and they tweak the robo to do bad stuff. How Vaseegaran stops his Robo, forms rest of the story.
Needless to say, Rajini steals the show. He looks young, does rocking dance, and does sensational stunts! Both as Vaseegaran, and the robo, Rajini lives the characters. The villianism in the bad robo has such a Rajini touch ... as a master in such negative roles, he pulls it off with such elegance. Second part of the second half is where the movie hits the peak of entertainment with stunning graphics. If you had seen the trailer, you will know what to expect. Put the seat belts on for a thrilling roller coaster ride!
Without doubt, this will be a run away hit. Do not miss to be a part of it!
