Itne Rishte?. Review on Ek Rishtaa

Ek rishtaa-the bond of love sob!sob! Sob……….. As depressed the title is,the viewer is compelled to count so many flaws…Were the editors in deep shock ……. And the director just got from his sleep having a nightmare??!!!

Borrowing umpty bits from those golden days, the movie fails in every respect of movie making. Sorry to say but the Father-and-Son conflicts heavier on our head than the huge boulder. Egad!!

Vijay Kapoor (played by Amitabh Bachchan) emerges as a big tycoon…. living in plastic-flowered decked up bungalows. He’s been on the magazine’s covers since late….and one day after one of his conferences, he’s impressed by a fan, Rajesh(played by Monish Behl) and keeps him at work.

The fan meets Papa Kapoor's Laadli beti (played by Juhi Chawla) who’s very impressed by his word power of Rajesh and quickly marries him. After this, many misunderstandings between Papa Kapoor and his foreign returned son(played by Akshay Kumar) who’s an IT professional, leaves his house for setting up his own business and ofcourse marries his dream gal Nisha (played by Karisma )so that they can boogie again.

Next, the fan tricks Vijay Kapoor into a state of bankruptcy. Hey,don’t worry as the son rushes back to his Dad’s rescue and ensures him that everything’s all right. In between all this, son cries tubs of tears, shares a spicy sandwich with dad on the roadside lots of clicks and flicks and patches up with his wife.

There are two many unnecessary characters in the movie like the two Kapoor sisters as decorative as the huge and decorative bungalow. Shakti Kapoor and Kunika giving a sobby comedy. (Aaoo!), the picnic scene with Sunil Shetty, Cabaret by Nagma brings down the movie even more.

The music by Nadeem-Shravan “sux” and seems as a recycled version .Of the performances, Karisma ‘s and Juhi’s talents are wasted. Howcome Juhi looks so…fat in the movie? Any answers or should I call Jai Mehta.;)

Akshay has shown an improvement. Amitabh’s absolutely amazing inspite of sucha shallow script. The only good thing about the movie is BigB
