Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee, Akshay Kumar, Karishma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Simone Singh
After the highly successful ''Jaanwar'', Suneel Darshan repeats his magic pair of Akshay Kumar and Karisma Kapoor. He also manages to rope in the Big B. An obvious recipe for a successful movie.
Vijay Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan) is an immensely successful, kind, caring businessman. He's earned his wealth the hard way, and believes there is no substitute for experience. His world comprises of his adoring family -- wife Pratima (Rakhee), three daughters Preeti (Juhi Chawla), Priya (Simone Singh), Rani and son Ajay (Akshay Kumar).
Enter Rajesh Purohit (Mohnish Bahl), a business graduate looking for a job. And endowed with the ability to impress Vijay with his efficiency, and Preeti with his skill at solving crossword puzzles.
Ajay, who is celebrating his specialisation in information technology, returns in time for his sister's wedding after, of course, having fallen head-over-heels in love with Karisma. While Ajay is keen on starting out on his own, his father believes he should first gather the experience required to run a business.
The son does not agree with his father's methods. The two clash, with each successive event serving to further the rift. It reaches the stage where Vijay orders his son to leave the house
The successful businessman, though, is soon duped by those he once trusted, and reduced to bankruptcy. The prodigal son returns, father and son combine forces, and fight to restore the family honour.
As far as acting goes, Amitabh Bachchan is his superb self. Rakhee, Juhi and Karisma unfortunately, dont have much screen presence and are wasted.
It seems that Suneel Darshan brings out the best in Akshay Kumar. After an incredible performance in ''Jaanwar'', Akki delivers an outstanding performance. He stands up to the actor of Amitabh's calibre which in itself shows his rapidly improving acting skills.
Among the other plus points is the pleasing cinematography . So too is the music by the numero uno music directors Nadeem- Shravan.
The director Suneel Darshan himself, it is obvious, has put in a tremendous amount of hard work and the end product indicates the same.
ALL IN ALL: A complete family entertainer. Well polished product.
