Friends, let me tell you frankly, it was Big B's position in acting field and his recent hospitalisation which made me read the review of Ek Ajnabee on rediff first and then right here on MS though I am not Big B's fan. Another reason, of course being rare visitor at theatre, big screen effect always gives me a good change if at all movie is worth watching atleast once.
By now, many of us know the plot of this movie, so I will write something related to it too. For the first time I visited City Pride theatre in Kothrud with my husband and Ek Ajnabee was my choice among four total movies there. Other three movies were out of question as for the above reasons. One more attraction was cute girl Rucha Vaidya described on rediff.
Let me tell plot -
Arjun Rampal (as shekhar in movie) calls Big B (Colonel Suryaveer Singh) for doing duty at Bangkok and gives him idea only on reaching there that he has to do a job of body guard in rich family due to increased kidnapping cases there. Further he gets nervous to know that it is a about ten yrs.old girl who is to be guarded. Big B, I mean Suryaveer Singh, who is called ''Surya'' right from first visit by cute girl, doesn't get along with her initially due to his past record in army. He was responsible for death of two children while managing terrorists and the very fact made him uncomfortable with Rucha (played Anamika). Moreover, the guilty feeling had made Big B a drunker. However, Rucha's innocence and urge to have a good friend as she was kept in tight security at big palace like home slowly makes Big B get along with her nicely. In her parent's absence he teaches her not to get afraid of sound of gunshooting which was depriving her from being swimming champion. These frames are worth watching. Surya gets parental feelings for the cute girl and ajnabee becomes her one and only one ''Dost'' and then happens kidnapping drama.
Rucha is very effective in every frame with Big B. I liked her close-ups. Big B is natural in actions as usual. Rucha's lovely mom's role is played by Perizaad Zorabian. She too is perfectly suited for the role. Arjun Rampal has tried his best to stand with Big B. Overall good movie.
Talking about City pride, kothrud, nice theatre but not in comparison with E square. Theatre is hall quite big and attractive but the management needs more attention to upkeep it. Then I was not comfortable with exit arrangement which takes ten minutes in crowd to reach parking area. While coming out, I wanted to go canteen area and it was giving feeling of bhul- bhulaiyya as first- timer with no sign boards in crowdy exit porches.
So, friends you can watch it anywhere you like as movie is worth watching for sure. I expect you to write your report then obviously. First keep comment here and then get ready to watch it.
