I reviewed a number of robotic vacuum cleaner or robotic vacuum and moping cleaners and then bought this relatively expensive one.
There are many factors to consider when you buy such a vacuum they are
1) How dirty does your house get - pets, kids, dusty environment.
2) How much free space is there in your house - is the floor completely flat, rugs and carpets, room dividers, plus non permanent things like toys, slippers and other stuff that may be on the floor.
3) Do you want it to mop-is it a pad or a rotating mop? This has rotating scrub mops which stick out a bit outside the main circular shape there by making corners a bit more accessible.
4) Will there be supervision when the task is being performed?
5) Auto empty station- only charge or empty dirt?
6) Furniture- can it get around or under it?
7) Size - usually most houses are too small for the capacity of the battery and the capabilities of the machine.
I bought this one because it is able to map the house relatively accurately, has a great app that allows easy editing of the map and the tasks, can be easily be shared with multiple users, has a manual mode with single touch operation to clean the entire house.
It has both vacuum and mop capabilities, has an auto was and different settings for closeness of overlap, wetness of mop, time between mop cleaning and bag emptying and a great service network.
When you say the robot will clean your house it also means you have to spend a good 15 minutes preparing the house and the machine. The house needs to be cleaned of all removable objects from the floor, like toys, cloths and foot mats, pick up large pieces of paper and dry out water spills.
The machine needs to be emptied of diry water and filled with clean water. Once in a while the main roller brush might get tangled with hair or debris and needs to be manually cleaned.
It has a great user interface, it announces verbally what is doing and if it needs help. The messages appear on the app too!
Once in a while the washing sink on the home station needs to be cleaned.
This robot does a great job of vacuuming my house( we have two large dogs) and mopping too as it has rotating mops.
It takes about 45 minutes to clean and mop a 1200 sq feet house.
Does a good job 99%of the time. Sometimes it gets lost and needs a manual intervention( app command) to make it go home and then restart the job or specify the area that was not done.
In all I am happy with it.
Parts and service are easily available, the dust bag in the charging station where it auto empties is non reusable , but you can pull it out and dust it once a week and put it back in. The base station suction is very high and it compacts the dirt in the dust bag so they recommend to use for a month and throw. Only one bag comes with the unit.
It machine needs regular cleaning in say 2 week.
The wheels are not pivoted on an axle but move on the hub like a tank track there by reducing hair tangling on the main drive wheels.
