....that's the thought which came to my mind when I entered the open terrace of this restaurant. Most probably this is the only restaurant in Banglore on 13th floor and on open terrace (pls correct me if I am wrong).
The restaurant is located in Barton Towers on M.G. Road. It is / seems to be a part of Ivory Towers Hotel located on 12th & 13th floor.
It has three sitting arrangements, two of them are on each side of the tower - overlooking the Banglore city and one is inside the restaurant. The terrace is open air and obviously not A/C (who requires A/C there?). The inside sitting arrangement has A/C.
The ambience and decor of the restaurant may not be that of a A-grade or a 5-star hotel but is nice and decent.
We got table D4 which was facing the Parade ground on MG Road. The view was breathtaking and overlooking a nice clear starry sky.
The menu boasts a nice variety of drinks and cuisine - I was rather surprised to see 'Parsee' cuisine in Banglore. Being from Mumbai city, I felt at home somehow - though I am not a Parsee.
The menu was well laid and easy to understand and order. I selected some drinks and starters (fish dishes and corn dishes) for 4 of us. The service was a bit slow than expected - maybe too many patrons came for the dinner on that night.
For the main course, we selected two vegetarian dishes from 'Parsee' menu and two non-veg dishes as recommended by the chef. They were nicely prepared though it took more than 25 mins to serve us.
With drinks, the bill for 4 of us was around Rs.1500/- which I thought was reasonable. We also paid for such a ''nice height''.
Highly recommended for family (small children should be looked after at such a height), friends and even your spouse-to-be.
It is better that advance reservations is made for your dinner date.
