My situation is a perfect case of buyer getting penalized for the operational lapse on the part of vendor, the logistics company and most certainly eBay - the online platform. It is 14 days since I placed the order on eBay & paid through net banking.
The vendor confirmed to me after almost a week that the item has been shipped and provided the FEDEX Tracking No - 589931388936.
If you check right now on Fedex tracking system, shockingly, there is no information about the shipment... I called up eBay Customer support yesterday (reference no 1-13305040967) and also today (Reference no: 1-13395972639) & was told that item was not shipped by the seller / not picked up by FEDEX.
Further more, the recent customer support person (Jignesh) I spoke with today even had the cheek to argue with me justifying the delay in response from their customer support team!
The vendor however informed me that FEDEX had actually picked up the item on 22nd of Aug 2013 but had not connected the tracking ID to their tracking site as a pressure tactics (Typical Black mail) to recover pending dues from eBay.
Guys, there is a serious logistical / coordination goof-up between eBay-fedex and the vendors selling on ebay. It is too risky to buy anything on eBay because no one takes onus of ensuring delightful transactions. Dangerously, everybody pretends to be clueless about suggesting a confirmed date of delivery of an order.
Why on earth as a returning buyer like me and numerous regular loyal shoppers on eBay be penalized for the internal operational issues that the company has with the logistics company or the vendors operating on their site?
Only a fool would wait for over 14-20 days to expect dispatch of order let alone delivery of goods for which payment has been made beforehand. Might as well buy from a close by shop.. why shop online? Never expected such a decline in eBay's customer responsiveness since 2001 (erstwhile Baazee.com.)
Finally decided - To hell with this transaction. I want the order cancelled and my money back ASAP. I am attaching 2 snapshots exposing the intention of the service provider -
The first pic shows the page reached by clicking the ORDER TRACKING link provided on mail. It shows order status as "To Be Shipped."
Second pic is the page where one can raise a claim with eBay. There the order status is reflecting as Shipped. The purpose is to stop an aggrieved buyer from cancelling an order / raising a dispute by falsely stating order status as shipped! Isn't this amount to deliberate misrepresentation of facts...?
Any sane person would agree that there can not be 2 different status for the same order. Think for yourself once, what this suspicious nexus between the seller, service provider and the logistics company is up to. I am never coming back especially after such an unprofessional experience.
Just wanted to warn other people mostly those intending to make high end purchases on eBay from falling into the trap. Please shop online with caution. COD is the only option/safeguard an alert buyer should opt for. Hoping that someone from eBay is listening and will respond positively or take corrective action/s.
Rgds,
