Ashrafmohamedy’s review on Baazee.com reminded me of a similar experience I went through recently. That review triggered me to share my experience with you on baazee.com.
One fine morning, I opened my mailbox to realize that I am automatically a member of a site called baazee.com. Someone did a favour, (on me or the site!?) by subscribing me to baazee.com! ”STRANGE!!!” I thought but didn’t bother much. I simply ignored that email and went along with my life but baazee had a different plan!
After a weeks time I received another email from someone named Ayesha reminding me of some 1 Rs bidding taking place at baazee and also sent my login details. Having read umpteen times here on MouthShut how baazee deal with their members, I wasn’t interested at all even in visiting baazee site. I requested them, “Ayesha” to unsubscribe me and spare me of baazee's junk emails. I received an automated confirmation after 2 days from baazee! that I have been unsubscribed. I was glad at their “prompt” action and appreciated it.
But, hang on…Next week I received another email! This time it was baazee's affiliates selling some products and they “Ayesha” wanted me to have a look at them. I was really irritated by this. This time I wrote a stern sounding email, and asked them to explain me that how come I have received this email after I have been unsubscribed from baazee. And what proceeded next was funnier than “santa, banta singh jokes”
I received another “automated” email from baazee, that my unsubscribtion was unsuccessful!!!
Wonders of wonders! Now I had two emails from baazee, one saying that I am unsubscribed and the other that I am not! I wrote my final email to baazee and attached both the contradicting notes and asked them to explain what it means? Well, baazee now realized that their folly has been exposed and sent me a sorry mail and finally unsubscribed me. Baazee not just unsubscribed but also blocked my baazee account, which THEY HAD CREATED!
After few days I read that baazee claims to have more than 13 lakh registered members. I am not amazed or flattered. I know how baazee have reached that number, if they have? Buy bulk emails from those who sell and forcibly make all of them baazee members by some automated scripts. I was one of them! But I wonder how many of us must have bothered to go my length to free themselves of baazee's spam!
Agreed, their site speed is good, the design is neat, their ads are catchy, their promises are glossy but then it’s all a cobweb to catch docile folks like us. I have read and heard many tales of woes of baazee members. I don’t want to be the next. What about you?
I am sad with baazee I am annoyed with baazee. Baazee was supposed to be ebay of India, but it seems to have become a bug-ee.
