Online Shopping involves risk and in my experience of shopping online for almost a decade now, never before I was disappointed. When it comes to websites like ebay, the reputation itself gives a sense of security, however that is not the case.
These days, there are petty sellers using portals like ebay, snapdeal to sell their products. One way to find out if the seller has any reputation is to check the rating. But this rating can be misleading too!
It was in the first week of this month I placed an order for a toy costing 155. The shipping was free and description was clear. The seller had at good rating, the order was delivered in a week and to my shock, I paid 155 for a product costing 20.
The MRP of the product was mentioned on it and immediately I wrote to the seller. The seller called me to convince me that 155 was a fair price as they have paid shipping which was close to 70. I was not impressed with the explanation. The seller also tried to explain how she runs a business and she needs to take profit out. I asked her to deal with quality goods and not to cheat. I told them I expect return and refund and the seller agreed. I gave the seller a week and the refund didn't take place. Nobody responded to calls and mails.
Now I had no option but to contact ebay. It was disappointing when all I was asked to do was to leave feedback on seller's page and issue will be resolved. I did as instructed and did not get any response.
My experience of shopping with ebay was very disappointing, the customer support was no help and products sold are available in any local market at much cheaper rate.
Be safe and careful before dealing with sellers of popular forums.
