This one will be my Golden Jubilee Review on Dubai, well I have chosen this topic because I have so many BEAUTIFUL memories there and thought of sharing few with y’all. I was there for only two months in 1998 during the Dubai Shopping Festival.

On the southern shores of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is one of the seven states, such as Sharjah, Abu Dhabi (Capital), Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah which, make up the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE has a sub-tropical, arid climate. Rainfall is infrequent and irregular. The official language is Arabic but English and Hindi is widely understood

The Dubai Shopping Festival where the thrills last a month but the memories lasts a lifetime. It is been launched in 1996 and is the world's largest family festival held every year. The festival has attracted millions of people from all around the world. The world's best brands at the world's best prices,'' have labeled Dubai, the shopping capital of the Middle East.

It has the fastest growing gold centers in the world. A tax-free policy, plus high volumes at low margins ensures that Dubai has the best prices for gold in the world. It is likely the only place where gold and jewelry are available in all major karats.

For gold shopping The Gold Souk in Deira is the best place it has about 250 gold retailers, where narrow streets are lined with shop windows glinting with the ornaments in 18, 21 and 22 and 24 carat.

Dubai’s numerous shopping centers cater to every consumer need. Cars, haute couture clothing, jewelry, electronics, furnishing, sporting equipment, and any other goods will likely all be under the same roof.

Dubai is the chief port and commercial center of the country. It is a very pleasant city, not only to visit, but also to live in. It has all the affluent western metropolis- adequate water, reliable electricity, well-stocked supermarkets and modern hospitals, superb sporting facilities and clubs, and a diverse cultural life and much more.

Dubai's credits rise even further because of the features of Modern City life, which are missing like no air pollution, no traffic jams, no poverty and very little crime. It’s one of the safest cities in the world.

One of the Dubai's greatest attractions, for visitors is its superb shopping centers. Being an open port with low import duties and no taxation offers the bargain. Most major brand name products are readily available, and are often less expensive in Dubai than their original country. Modern shopping malls are conveniently located throughout the city, their marble walls and efficient air-conditioning provides a cool welcome to customers.

Dubai malls: - Dubai's major shopping areas include Al Rigga Road, Karama, Al Dhiyafa Road, Bani Yas Square, Wafi, BurJuman Center, Lamcy Plaza, Al Dhiyafa Center, Karama Center, Al Rais Shopping Mall, Dune Center, Al Hana Center, Al Khaleej Center and Holiday Center are among the largest complexes. Hmm and don’t forget the Dubai Duty Free complex at the airport

Souk shopping center is quite entertaining as well as profitable. Bargaining is part of the fun of shopping in Dubai. While boutiques, some electronics shops, department stores and supermarkets may operate on a fixed-price basis but most other outlets consider friendly negotiation as a way of life. The sheer variety of goods available in the winding alleys is bewildering - from gold and the latest in electronics, cameras and wrist watches to spices, silks, household appliances and sports goods you name it and they have it. It’s thrilling to browse through Dubai’s famous souks. The bustling atmosphere and traditional style of doing business by negotiating, keeps shoppers on their toes throughout the whole shopping experience

The city has many fine Mosques. One of the largest and most beautiful Mosques is Jumeirah Mosque it is a spectacular example of modern Islamic architecture.

Hotels offer a remarkably diverse range of food and beverage outlets. They serve not only their guests but also attract large numbers of local residents. Their restaurants cover everything from coffee shops to fine dining and specialty outlets and the standard of service is on a par with the best in the world. The nightlife is equally varied, with many bars, pubs, discos and nightclubs

The main Middle East Cuisine mostly is Hoummus, (made with chickpeas and sesame seeds) Tabbouleh (chopped parsley, mint and crushed wheat.) Ghuzi (a whole roast lamb on a bed of rice mixed with nuts) and Shawarma (grilled shavings of lamb or chicken, mixed with salad and rolled inside a pocket of Arabic bread.) well and much more.

For Entertainment there is WonderLand it’s a family fun park it features, a wide range of water attractions, water rides include speed slides, surf hills, twister, wave runners and a Caribbean cruise. It also has a water mist show and water cinema, with videos projected on a thin film of water, plus a full complement of on-land attractions.

Encounter Zone situated in the Wafi shopping mall, this is an entertainment center for both children and adults. The popular Crystal Maze is featured along with a horror chamber and fascinating 3-D film. The roller-coaster simulator feels like the real thing and children can enjoy a host of rides including the Komet, which shoots around the top of the building.

Mushrif Park is the largest park in Dubai. It has strange features like tiny houses from different countries, and a miniature train is interesting attractions.

I like the Hyatt Regency it has a big shopping mall on the ground floor with Galleria a cinema complex, cafés, supermarket and boutiques set around the Ice Rink. I just loved to sit in the café and watch the ice skating rink with professionals teaching children after watching movie there.

I have so many beautiful memories that I can still feel it. This is a place I can never ever forget. Well I would like to go there one more time with someone special. Hmm that’s the secret. Well I am gonna end now because I want to go back and think about the wonderful time I have spent there.

Well some won’t find my review quite helpful but it makes a lot to me. There are so many things / places to write on Dubai one can go on and on it’s such a beautiful country but man I need to go back to Dubai in my dream.
