Definitely not a good experience. There was nothing quick or seamless about this experience. Since I've never heard of Driveway, and no one explained I was dealing with a vendor, I thought I was dealing directly with the dealer until about three days into the process. The car was listed as a hybrid, it wasn't. They did explain it was listed incorrectly and I did opt to purchase the gas vehicle anyway, but there was no compensation offered for the false advertisement of the vehicle(I have the original listing to prove it).

I upset the documents person at Driveway early in the process as I didn't feel as though she was communicating with me respectfully. I felt she definitely made things as difficult as possible from that point forward. She never answered her phone and took her time calling me back. I initiated most of the calls to her for status updates. All DocuSign docs had to be signed within an hour or submitted same day prior to 3 PM CA time even after telling her I manage a department of 1500 people and can't simply stop to sign docs. She offered no solution except, if I didn't get the docs over within the timeline, we would have to start the documentation process over. Never an explanation as to why the rush or why this wasn't explained prior to sending the docs.

The sales team at Driveway sent me the buyer's invoice with the wrong company name on it, so my bank inadvertently remitted the check to the wrong company. I had to get the check reissued, which further delayed the process. The final documents sent via DocuSign had a different sales tax amount than the original buyer's invoice. (I have both to prove it) I had to make up the difference in their error because the check from my bank had already been sent for the 2nd time. I was told by their documents woman that if the check didn't match the invoice, we would have to start the process over. I was promised they would refund the difference after speaking to a manager(who took two days to call me back) but that never happened.

They sent the 1st check back but sent it to the wrong credit union which also delayed the process. They claimed they were dealing with two different buyers that day and got the docs mixed up. And after all that, they sent all the docs that I'd previously signed with DocuSign to my home address via UPS Express, with a 3-day turnaround timeframe, because they needed a wet signature. That's fine, but why the back and forth with DocuSign and their ridiculous time constraints for 3 days if wet signatures are required?

My car was delivered promptly after 3/12 weeks of dealing with them. The actual delivery team was great. But my luxury car came with a warning light for low tire pressure, 1 in key fob and an awful stench from the AC unit. I would be extremely leery about buying a high-end car, out of state, and online with this company. I knew it would be risky but didn't think it would be this bad. The first check for the purchase of my car was cut on 29 JUN, the car was delivered 3 1/2 weeks later and I just got the tags 02 AUG. Guess who has to fix the tire issue, key fob and stinky AC? Me, because it's considered normal wear and tear. Awful experience all the way around and unfortunately learned some very valuable lessons the hard way. Never again!
