Formal? What is formal?
Sep 20, 2001 11:31 PM 4183 Views

Formal dining means formal dressing and a grownup way of paying dress up!  If you can afford to do it have fun with it!  Dress up in the long gown and satin gloves!  Find the slinkiest dress you can and make yourself feel like a queen.

I remember going to the thrift store and finding neat dresses for dress up and playing party.

When I think of'formal dining'  I think of what I would wear to the prom.  A very nice dress from a place that you can only afford to really look.  A dress you save for for months to buy and wear once.  Guys have it so much easier.  Just buy a tuxedo and wear it over and over.  Buy a nice suit or two and keep them ready to go.  We women have to buy shoes, a handbag and jewelry to match.

Formal in a way means you are trying to impress someone.  Most formal dinners are done to raise funds or for political activities.  Some are for movie reviews or just to impress.

In our part of the country formal means a new pair of jeans and a nice shirt.  Maybe a new dress from Wal-Mart or Kmart.  Something you can afford and wear again.

Formal is in the eye of the beholder.  You chose your idea of formal and be comfortable with it!  Comments and ideas are always welcome!
