A review of another sight seeting place in Panjim city, my hometown, called Donapaula - the place where the famous Ek Duje ke liye scene was shot!

Mind you - this is not beach as some people may tell you or if you have read so- its like a bay/jetty.

Donapaula is about 7-8kms from Panjim but terminal. You can take a private bus/cab or hire a two wheeler and its a straight road until Miramar beach.

Once you are at Miramar ask for road, earlier there was again a straight stretch of road- which is now under re-construction, so you may have to take a diversion via Caranzalem.

Reach up-to NIO Cirle and head straight down to Donapaul - at NIO Circle, the road to your left will take you to Goa University and the one to Right to Cabo Niwas(official residence of Governor of Goa).

As you enter, you may find a lot of oncoming traffic as this place is always crowded with Tourists. Very tough to find parking. This place is actually like a dead-end, where the roads stop and there is a pathway built for you to walk ahead. This is the confluence of Arabian sea and the two rivers in Goa, Mandovi and Zuari! You can see glittering lights of Vasco city opposite the sea.

The place is just awesome! Try going here around evenings, close to sunset time, else it can be very hot. Once you are here, you can choose what you want to do - click selfies, walk atop to have a beautiful view of never end sea, sit on the benches and enjoy some breeze, or just relax watching people, kids - do whatever you feel like - you are sure to feel romantic here. If its monsoon or just post some showers - it will be one awesome place to be with your loved one!

You can also choose to walk up to the viewing point, as you walk up you would find a small statue of a couple, it is of a British philosopher Robert Knox and his wife. Do not believe if someone/guide tell you love stories of one Mr Paul and Miss Dona, who committed suicide here and that is how the name Dona Paula. It is also believed that Dona Paula was named after Dona Sa Maria, the wife of a Portuguese official.

There are few hawkers around, if you wish to buy some Goan artifacts or caps or T-Shirts flashing'I Love Goa'.
