Don 2

Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai; this reflects the state of the plot too. Is plot ko samajhna mushkil hi nahi, na mumkin hai, but still I got it. I’m as good as or better than Don. So, SRK can never go senile because his brain games are a very good exercise. Each movie is like a puzzle, how puzzling!

So, Don starts out with a neat depiction of the French Riviera, with Fabian Kohl’s men after Don for being the best narco king who wants European supremacy. SRK’s neat hair do, and unassuming style fit the part to the T. Fast, smart, thinking, and never outdone, Don manages to raze Kohl’s men to dust only to embark on his next plan. His plan is to steal the plates of currency in the Deutsche Bank DBZ. After killing off Kohl’s men, Don gets arrested by Roma, his stalker cop, and she sends him to a jail at Malaysia; all this with the help of her mentor Om Puri ji. Is it that all Puris have to be police people? No, of course not!! But that is besides the point.

In the Malysian jail Don meets his arch enemy Vardhaan, whom he manages to take over to his side. Why does Don do that, because he needs to collect a team to be able to carry of the currency notes heist from the bank. Vardhan and Don then go about making plans to contact JK Diwan, who is the Chairman of the bank that Don is to swindle. How is Don to get the cooperation of JK Diwan, by blackmail of course! In his anxiety to get the top job, Diwan murdered Charles, the rightful heir to the bank’s post, and Don gets to know of this. Diwan does this with the help of the previous movie’s Singhania. So, Don gets to know of Diwan’s weakness by which he will get him to disclose how the secure plates are removed from the bank.

While the action shifts from country to country, Don has just one goal in mind, to be able to steal the currency plates, get out alive from the scene of the heist, and kill Jabbar, who has been hired by Diwan to kill Don after Don used Diwan as the person who will reveal to him the codes of the plates’ containers. So, the action in the movie is breathtaking, and so are the dialogues. We each get what we are looking for. The most relatable dialogue of Don’s is, “ Don dushmanon ke bare me kuch nahi bhulta.” It’s true, we always remember our enemies more than our friends.

Vardhaan plays along with Don, but has plans to jack Don’s plans and steal the real plates and share the spoils with Jabbar. But Don gets a whiff of that too, and enables Vardhaan to steal wrong plates. The real plates have been couriered by Ayesha to their rightful destination. So, Roma’s character in the story is insane. She loves Don, but also loves to hurt him, which is crazy. So, in the end is she with him or with her duty, no one can tell.

With sheer aggression and manipulation, Don literally buys immunity from the cops and instructs them to drop all charges leveled against him. The cops just buy everything he says like demented, vulnerable idiots. He also is the rightful owner of the plates, and the cops and Diwan get only fabricated ones at the end. Roma gets shot in the stomach by Jabbar, but because she is in love with Don, she will survive; well, you can’t say, coz Don has eyes even for Ayesha, who could very well be his true love.

So, Don is not only the king of drugs in Europe as well, as he has just got rid of Kohl, but he is also the king of currency, and all previous accusations have been dropped against him. Wow, criminal ho to aisa, varna na ho!

The songs in the film could be really improved. All of Raone songs were great, but I guess when you have a plot like that, the last thing you want to be on is a song! I was really happy to see so many foreign actors in the movie supporting the main crew. SRK has really become truly global, and if he can rake in international talent like Akon, and now his Don 2 acting crew, he can do anything.

Also, this movie is dangerous coz ppl will now start playing Don too easily, but, Don ko imitate karma mushkil hi nahi, na mumkin hai! WOT??

But the only message to SRK would be to do only one blockbuster per year, coz two blockbusters just make you your own enemy in the ratings race. On the whole a winner of a plot of a movie, so people who followed it can now aspire for CBI jobs, or at least Dabangg ones!!! He he he! But it’s X’mas; so ho ho ho!!
