I visited Dolphin Resort in mid February of this year. The climate was very warm. Booking: I booked the room in this resort 3 months in advance as this is government resort and first choice of most of the visitors. So you need to book in advance. You can check in anytime. The check out time is 8:30 a.m.
Best time to visit: The best time to come here is from November - February. It will be better if you visit in start of November. Otherwise, it will be very warm after that.
Location: The Dolphin Resort is located at 3 km from Jetty after 2-4 hours ferry ride from Port Blair Airport. The Dolphin resort is located near Beach#5 of the Havelock Island. The nearest beach is Vijaynagar Beach. You will fall in love with resort as soon you will visit. The resort has rooms of different price range. All the rooms are like Nicobari Huts. My room was in front of the beach only. I took VIP Cottage.
The tariff is as follows:
VIP Cottage (AC) - Rs. 2000/-
Deluxe(AC) - Rs. 1500/-
Semi Deluxe(AC) - Rs. 1000/-
You can check few photos of the resort in my photo gallery.

Food: At Havelock Island, it is better to take food at the resort only. Breakfast will cost you 60 rupees per person which includes 2-3 menu options and tea/ coffee. It is available from 7-9 a.m. The buffet lunch(12-2 p.m.) and dinner(7:30 -9:30 p.m.) will cost you 100-200 per person. It has 24-hour coffee shop. Activities: Dolphin Resort will give you real experience when it comes to relaxation and recreation. Beach activities like sunbathing, volleyball and water sports such as scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming in the natural shallow bay are available at the Dolphin Resort. This makes your stay an enjoyable one.
Room Quality: This resort has 34 sea facing rooms and cottages. The rooms were clean and neat. The room service was quick.
My verdict: This resort is really a budget resort and value for money. If you are planing to visit Andaman Island then spend most of your time at Havelock Island and Dolphin Resort will be a good experience to spend time on Havelock Island.
