Story:

This was my first Sudha Murty's book. The story is very simple and straight. It is about a common middle class household in India. The common hardships and how the money(dollar in this case) attracts the middle class people so much. It tells a true tale of how a mother-in law tends to appreciate the American bahu over her Indian bahu due the influence the money brings. There are many other stories which one comes across in the book. But all the same the core of every story is how money brings the rift among families.

Somewhere in between the book you will feel like you had enough of the tragic stories but do read till the end. Though the end is not extra-ordinary but surely it is the wisest climax for the book. It is a very light read and you will surely relate to one or the other stories.
