Recently, I flew through this Airport from Amsterdam to Bangkok with Qatar Airways.
First of all, If you fly with Qatar and your transit period is more than 8 hours, you must claim your right for accommodation. They do not just give it to you.
Since they have a single terminal with 5 concourses(A, B, C, D, E), I found the transit quite smooth and fast. 1 thing I have to comment is the inconsistency of carrying liquid policy.
From Bangkok to Doha, there was no X-ray or Scanning during Transit. But when I flew back from Amsterdam, there was an X-ray and also scanning.
For my connecting flight, I was assigned to go use the bus gate. The boarding experience was painless as I was the first passenger to board the aircraft.
The symbol of this airport is the big teddy bear which the Qatari royal family has bought it from New York.
Since Qatar is not being boycotted Saudi Arabia, they have to fly further to avoid Saudi Air space. For this reason, it takes longer time to transit here compared to Dubai airport. However, they cope with this challenge by adding new routes to keep their existing passengers.
