Hi Team,


This is in reference to my DTH connection which was bought on 2nd April and subsequently installed on the same day under VC No 02511428745. I have been facing issues with my DTH connection since the time of installation and I have been calling the DTH customer care every day to get my issue resolved but the Dish TV support staff pays no heed to my queries. I was surveying on the internet regarding the better DTH operator in Hyderabad and I visited DISH TV website and placed a request for a call back. I got a call from the sales division of Dish TV on 1st of April from the number+911246242069 and the guy introduced himself as the sales personnel from DISH TV. The person pitched a plan to me which turned out to be a fake later on. He sold me a plan worth INR 1690 which included an HD set-top box and Super Family HD pack. He also said that you will get Star Sports HD 1 or Star Sports Hindi absolutely free for one month. I got convinced and asked him to book one connection for me. The technician from Dish TV team came to my place on 2nd April and installed the DTH connection. The channels of Super Family HD pack did appear except the Star Sports HD 1. I contacted the customer care in the night and asked them why there is no Star Sports channel on my subscription. The customer care executive told me that the offer of providing Star Sports HD 1 was valid for only those subscribers who would get their DTH installed on 1st of April and since my connection was installed on 2nd April I was not eligible for the offer.


I asked him if this offer was not valid for me then why the person from your sales division team lied to me and passed the wrong information. To this argument, the same executive said he will add Rs 20 into my account and add Star Sports HD channel to my subscription as compensation. I agreed to it and Star Sports HD was added. But to my surprise, the Star Sports HD channel never got started even though my package shows it is the part of my subscription.


I have called the support team umpteenth times and raised complaints every time. But it is very unfortunate that Dish TV has recruited the most unprofessional and rude staff to answer calls. I am told every time either the systems are down or are undergoing upgradation and I am asked to call again.


Five days have passed and the money keeps getting deducted from my package for a channel which is not being viewed and my request is turned down again and again. I was even told that a technician would visit my home on 4th April to correct the alignment of dish antenna but nobody turned out and when I inquired I was told my number was out of network reach which is absolutely false. My both numbers were active and in full network coverage.


You guys took my request again and arranged a technician visit yesterday(5th April). The technician visited my place and he was adamant that the channel is not subscribed henceforth being a reason for not getting appeared. When I told him that this channel is already the part of my package and I have been calling the customer care repeatedly for resolving this problem then he took the complaint seriously and activated a different package(BHARAT_COMBO). He went upstairs to the rooftop to check the antenna and left saying he will be back in an hour but never came back. My issue is still pending and you guys are paying no heed to my problem. If this is the kind of service you are providing to fresh customers then I must say Dish TV is the most filthiest and downgraded service provider in India which takes customers for a ride.


Can I ask you to take this garbage back and refund my money which I paid on the first day if you can’t stick to your promises?


I must reiterate that DISH TV has the most unprofessional and rude staff on its payroll who not only misbehave with subscribers but turn down the queries raised by the subscribers.


To sum up my email I write the events taken place in chronological order.


As It happened


1.Got a call from sales division of Dish Tv on 1st April and sold me a fake plan.(Corrupt and unacceptable behavior).


2.I accepted the offer on the same day and got my Dish TV booked.


3.Dish TV got installed on 2nd April.


4.All channels appeared except the Star Sports HD 1 which was offered by the sales personnel of DISH TV(Fake plan and sold a plan with lies).


5.Called customer care on the same night and talked to the supervisor. He added 20 INR to my account as compensation and added Star Sports HD 1.


6.The channel never showed up and I raised a plethora of complaints.


7.My requests were turned down and I was shown the rude attitude. Most of the executive repeatedly said the systems are down and hung up the calls.


8.I called again on 3rd April and I was told the technician would visit my place within 24 hours to correct the likely faulty alignment of Dish TV antenna. (No technician turned up and my request was closed with a reason that I was not contactable—Utter lies).


9.I called again on 4th April and requested for a technician visit again. My request was accepted and the technician visited my place yesterday(5th April). The technician refused to accept the problem and remained adamant that Star Sports HD channel is not part of my package. I showed him the screenshot of my package and he went upstairs to check the dish antenna.


10.He called somebody and changed my package to BHARAT_COMBO and the Star Sports HD 1 still does not appear on my TV screen.


11.The technician left and said he will return in an hour but never returned.


12.I subscribed to two more sports channels Star Sports HD2 and Star Sports 2(Non-HD) yesterday(5th April) and these two channels do not appear either when my subscription shows them in the screenshot shown below. Can anyone amongst you take an action on this and hold accountable your staff involved in mis-selling and turning down customer queries? I am sure you can’t and the best thing is to refund my money. I am raising this grievance here on your official page and hope to get a resolution.


My punchline for the Dish TV network goes like this.


THE ENTIRE DISH TV STAFF INCLUDING THE MANAGEMENT IS A BUNCH OF CROOKS WHO NEVER TURN UP TO SOLVE ISSUES AND RUN AWAY FROM THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES. Many Thanks,
