As the title states - Dish TV scores a big zero when it comes to customer service. I think this term is not there in their dictionary or corporate values. All they care about is, how to loot the customer. Their ethics are so bad that they make a commitment to the customer and then back out.
A recent case that happened with me. I Recently got a Dish TV installed at my place(11th June 2017) from a technician that was sent by Dish TV itself. Everything was working perfectly until 19th June 2017 when the DISH antenna got detached from wall and flew away on its own due to some winds. Come on, I never heard such thing happening to anyone ever.
When I called up Dish TV to register my complaint, they tell me that I will have to shell out Rs.700 more for a new Antenna. I mean what stupidity it is? Did I install the antenna on my own or did I get it installed privately? The Answer is NO.
The reason this thing happened is because the technician didn't install it properly. As simple as that. I just thanked my stars that it didn't hit any person or crashed in anyone's car parked outside. It is a clear case Dish TV's negligence, I can say this as the supervisor who visited my place after my complaint, stated that the antenna was installed at the wrong place. Come on what was Dish TV thinking when they were installing it. Were they sleeping or were only concerned about earning the money from me? Now they have suddenly come out of the slumber and telling me all this crap. They even had the audacity to argue with me, that sir why didn't you should have verified the strength of the antenna when it was installed. I mean, what crazy argument to defend themselves. Is the customer expected to climb and hold the antenna to check whether it will fall or not? As a customer I am interested to check, if I am able to watch content on my TV or not.
Anyways, there have been so many discussions that happened with me and Dish TV's team after I shouted across various Social media platforms about this, later we mutually agreed that Dish TV will install a Demo antenna and asked me to pay Rs. 200 for that. It is that day and today, I have not got anything from them. Now they are telling me to pay Rs. 900. They have backed out from their commitment for the reason best known to them.
Their customer service team is worst ever I've seen for any company. The customer service lady calls me and tells, sir why did you refuse to pay the money to get the antenna installed?. I then said- When Did I refuse?. It is their executive who never came to install. Then she changed her statement, that we will not be able to install antenna at Rs. 200, now you will have to pay Rs. 700 for antenna and Rs. 200 for wire.
I mean, I never expected such thing from such a big brand. They are the biggest thugs of the century. I am telling you, with this casual attitude of theirs, they will soon have to put their shutters down.
In this age, when everyone knows that customer is the king, they are still tied up with age old values thinking that customer is fool. Grow up guys. Customer is smart enough to decide what is right and what is wrong.
