I arrived at INOX 15 mins prior to the first showing of Dilwale at 10 am. The crowd which gathered was abuzz with excitement and high expectation. Got seated in my favorite row and seat(I5) in the Executive section which cost Rs. 150. Then the wait started for the movie to begin.

Dilwale is a romantic film filled with tragedy, comedy and action. The movie is directed by Rohit Shetty(his best direction till date). The main attraction in the movie is the chemistry between SRK and Kajol. An additional "nayi jodi" has been thrown into the mix in the form of Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The stunts and action sequence like in all Rohit Shetty films are implausible and unnecessarily over-the-top.

The story is made for SRK with his lover boy image. Kajol looks good after being out of the loop for so long. She is a natural talent with her emotional out-pour in the movie. Varun is full of positive energy with a simple, sincere yet profound performance. Kriti was beautiful and stood her ground among her co-actors. Johnny Lever provided dollops of comedic relief.

Dilwale is meant to provide a King-sized masala family entertainment. It does not offer any ground-breaking stuff. It is an enjoyable movie especially for SRK-Kajol fans. It will definitely do well in the box office collections.

However, nothing they do will ever emulate the DDLJ magic. For those who wish to preserve a substantial part of their intellect, go watch Bajirao Mastani or even wait for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
