That's a Wash

Fragrance:

This is great stuff- nice scent, good lather and rinses off clean. I totally enjoy the overall clean feeling and aroma of this body wash.

I originally first started using Dial liquid soap when I was in college and shared a co-ed bathroom, and needed to save money and avoid the inconvenience of bar soap. I discovered that Dial soap in the pump dispenser used less soap, stretched the quantity, and I was able to avoid the waste that develops when bar soap sits in a dish, dissolving from the moisture.

I am totally sold on liquid soap and Dial Antibacterial Body Wash is a great replacement for my regular shower soap. Dial Antibacterial Body Wash comes in a plastic container with a pop top opening, out of which you can squeeze just the amount you need for washing.

This greatly extends the time the soap lasts. The container makes storing the soap very convenient. The soap container is just under 8 inches high, 3 inches wide, and about 1 inch and three quarters deep, so it will stand next to the bottle of shampoo you have on your shower shelf.

I first thought that the scent was overly feminine for my own tastes. I had used some of the sports-based body washes (Old Spice), and like the strong masculine fragrance. With the sports wash I was unhappy about the alcohol content and the residue left on the skin after rinsing.

Dial Antibacterial Body Wash doesn't have alcohol in it- it contains Triclosan, an active ingredient that works better and is less abrasive than alcohol. This body wash also contains Glycerin, and other ingredients, light moisturizers that absorb into the skin while washing.

Beware: Triclosan is listed on Google as a pesticide and is included in many products such as soap, toothpaste, and others. Dial uses it in this product as an antibacterial ingredient.

Dial also has a few other great-smelling body washes: Daily Care with Vitamins and Moisturizers; Daily Care with Gentle Exfolient plus Moisture Beads. I didn’t see Triclosan included in these, and the scents are great.

Your skin will feel clean and residue-free. The moisturizers are light as is the fragrance and you can feel and smell them but they leave a light effect on the skin because the soap rinses away so cleanly.

You may want to experiment with how much to squeeze out to wash with and see how it lathers and spreads on your own body type and bathing situations. I use a rough cloth to scrub my body and use my hands to wash my face, however you may find that a shower body sponge works better.

I use the Mountain Fresh scented soap- a floral, fresh air scent. It's a lightly applied aroma that really only occurs during bathing but fades away after rinsing.

The price is okay. I paid $3.99 Dollars at Duane Reade. At the epinions.com site you can get a price of $3.49, but the cost for shipping and handling may push that up. I'm not sure if it would cost less to buy in bulk.

The regular single bar of Ivory Soap costs me 86 cents, but for the quality of Dial Body Wash, I may switch over for good. It’s a great soap and makes me feel clean and smell good. Try it- you’ll feel good about it too.
